Certainly concur with all of the above, we will all miss the seniors and the many great Saturdays they provided to all of us. These two teams are the class of not just Division 3, but truly embody what being a STUDENT-Athlete is all about. Hats off to the Warhawks on their first back to back, and a quick trivia question- who besides Mount was the last back to back D-III champ?

Yeah, a lot of it was painful to watch, but let's give credit where credit is due.

Whitewater was No. 1 all year and showed why today.

Raiders are a young team that made it all the way back to the Stagg Bowl when many didn't think they would.

What can you say bad about a team that's forced to use an unexperienced QB getting his first start of the season in the Stagg Bowl?

Piloto has a lot of potential.  I hope he gets more experience next season.

Thank to all Purple Raiders and fans for another good year of football.   :-*

Wow, two years in a row with a substitute QB. We got beat in too many facets of the game. Fumbles, drops, mental errors and,,,,,oh yeah WW played very well. Time to drown my sorrows in a Hotel Roanoke Steak dinner.

A lot of talented soph's and frosh out there today. 300 some days to get psyched for purple bowl 7.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

All the best to this year's Raiders, you gave it your all while many thought a return trip to Salem was a dream. Great job to all the seniors for leading this team so well! :) :) Next year looks very promising! :)

A disappointing result today, but a great season none the less.  Thanks to our seniors for great memories, and to all this year's team for getting us to Salem once again.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

Next year in Salem!

Should someone ask "Why don't they make UWW move up a division ? ::)

I really wish the game could have been played with both starting QB's but maybe it made for a more interesting Stagg Bowl if not at least a "cleaner" one.  9 turnovers?  Not exactly either of these teams problem...and then today that

Levell Coppage was amazing and hard to stop that guy on a day like today...nothing but respect for all of you Mount fans...someone mentioned it earlier in the week about how WW playing MU in 02 and 03 (I think it was those years) was the turning point in their program and although some laughed it off it is absolutely true...

The fact that Kehres was willing to bring in our coaches and talk to them about what he does and how his teams prepare just speaks volume of the man and the program as a whole...how many other coaches would willingly let opposing coaches in on their "secrets" if you will...

this might sound dumb but truly LK is both directly and indirectly responsible for all 6 of the last Stagg Bowl victories...I think he pointed Brezowitz in the right direction and Brez pointed Leipold into the right direction on what the program has to do as a whole...then losing in the first stagg just made this program that much hungrier for more...

I personally will always be grateful to Kehres for what he did for the WW program, although I doubt he thought his help, no matter how big or small, would lead to this...lets do it again next year!!!

Yeah, but that's the whine of a victim of a blow-out.  With a sophomore QB making his first start, this was still a win-able game.  With a little better execution, with a few more bounces our way, we would have been celebrating #11.  That's what makes it so hard for the seniors.

Great game MU!  You guys are still the DIII program everyone wants to be like.

Great game by both teams; tough loss for MU, but congrats to both teams and UWW for their repeat title.

What was the official attendance for the game this year?  Did it beat last year's total of about 3480 or so? ???

Kudos to Mt Union for a great season.  Shorts is just amazing.  He has GOT to get drafted.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

... wait for it ... wait for it ... OK, I'm ready now ...

Congrats to UWW for a great plan and a great game.

As I sat watching the game wearing a MUC-Lycoming 61-12 championship T-shirt, the fact that UWW realized that the only way to beat #1 was to play them in the regular season was ever so clear.  Congrats for UWW's leadership to schedule a home-and-home with The Machine in 2002-2003.

And UWW looks like those early MUC teams.  A clone.  And they will make UMU better simply by their presence.

Coppage is still amazing.  And MUC's defensive players are amazing.  Congrats to both teams for a great season and a wonderful Stagg.

And I see that by being magnanimous, I already received one negative karma ... well, so be it.

Kudos to Coach K to not panic and put III in earlier, since Piloto will be his man of the future next year.

It's a tough gig for your first start, and although it isn't what we expect at MUC, it was not offensive.

Good luck to Pilo for 2011, and same to III in the next level.

A great game.  A frustrating loss.  But next year looms ...

Congratulations to the Purple Raiders on a great season. A very young team that accomplished so much. Best wishes to the seniors as they move on to the next phase of their life. They should be proud and they have created a bunch of great memories for themselves and their fans.  I hope CS III makes the most of the opportunity he most certainly will get at the next level. But I hope just as much the rest of the seniors (on both teams) get opportunities in their chosen field.  Both teams represented D3 athletics EXTREMELY well as they always do!  ;)

Starting to get obvious if Mount Union was in the MIAC or WIAC they would have many more loses - At least the last few years.
