I heard from Dean Frazier today that Cecil is not going to play tonight--try to heal up the hamstring for the next game and the combine.

Did not know that Cecil had another invite to a game, must be senior bowl? :-\

He was invited to the Texas vs. The Nation Game.

Thanks, K & J's Dad +k, When is it?

Seventies,

The Raider Women's BB took it big hit in Berea last night, can they still win the conference in your opinion? :-\

They have lost conference games to JCU, Marietta and BW. They have one left with BW but they'd need help to win the regular season. The conference tourney is a toss-up, Mount, Northern and BW, with JCU, Cap and Marietta as spoilers.

For future reference, once the check clears I have a statement to make.

FYI, I'm no longer the color commentator for Mount Union Football.  I've chosen to remove myself from the broadcast team because of the time commitment associated with covering the games, especially the road games.  I'll have 2 kids playing varsity HS sports this fall and can't afford to miss the limited time I have left watching them simply because I have a 4 hour road trip to and from Wilmington to cover a game that was over at halftime that no one was listening to anyway.  I sincerely appreciate the opportunity Ric gave me in participating over the years and I enjoyed every minute of the broadcasts, even the handful of losses I've covered.   But I've done it long enough to realize the joy of continuing isn't worth the price.

So from this point forward, I'm just an idiot fan like I used to be.  Which is in direct contrast to the most recent years of me being an idiot insider.....

I was going to keep this under my hat until summer/fall but I'm putting this out here now just in case the LK thing doesn't settle down and I don't want it to look like I walked away simply because of that situation.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

HSCoach-Totally understand the time constraints. I'm actually excited to know mine is outa Saturday afternoon Youth Football (as well as his old man is outta the booth) and now he will be on the sidelines Friday (old man in booth) and playing JV Saturday (old man in stands and getting ready to drive like hell to a Mount game)

Thanks for your hard work as well as giving Ric a wing man for a few years.

HScoach,

You did a great job on the broadcasts and time with your children during their special time is one that cannot be missed. When our children were in high school sports, I was traveling alot internationally, but I was able to get to most all of their games and the sacrifice was worth it!
Hope you continue with the Pick-ems, another area where you have performed so well! +k :)

We'll miss you on the radio, but we're glad you'll still be here.  Enjoy your kids!

Gonna miss you on the mike, Coach.  My Virginia Fall Saturdays were planned around the game broadcast and I will miss the always entertaining discourse between you and Ric as you try to fill the dead space during a regular-season blowout.  [Particularly during the commercial breaks!]

But kids are never kids for long and you should enjoy them as long as they are willing to put up with you!   :D

Pep is in the dark regarding "the LK thing" but saw in a posted interview of Kehres that Habitat for Humanity is a favorite charity that he supports:

Tell us about a favorite charity that you support.
Habitat for Humanity. A family in a new home is a great thing.

Pep is making preparations and recruiting 30 AU students for the annual trek to Florida for Spring Break (March 5-13) during which the students will build a house for a family in Deland, Florida. The 2011 adventure will be the ninth such trip for Pep.

Kehres is right about a family in a new home being a great thing. There's probably nothing more satisfying than to visit with a family in their new home a year after our group has built it along with them. Last year, we had occasion to visit with the homeowners of our 2009 build only to discover that the family of five had become a family of six! That three-bedroom home is looking smaller every day....

HEY WAIT! THE CHECK DIDN'T CLEAR YET!  :o LOL just kidding
Truly understand your commitments and appreciate the many years of excellent incite and coverage you and Ric have both provided. I hope as well you'll still do the Pick 'ems too as its always a terrific time watching how close and hard you have made the picks to be. Also the Idiot's fan club will always keep your invite to our wings warehouse Pow wows. Thanks again for your years of commitment and expertise.

I was just forwarded a news article confirming VK is one of four finalists at Lacrosse. I'm grateful for all he has done and the success we have had while he has been working a Mount, on the other hand, I hope he is back at Mount this summer.
