Interview with Cecil on Bleacher Report:

Shorts Circuits: Interview With NFL Draft Prospect Cecil Shorts III

Good old Bleacher Report: "Cecil Shorts III, WR, Mountain Union"

More from the article:

JM: Why did you choose to go to Mountain Union to go to school and play football for?

CS3: I wasn't very highly recruited out of high school, I was offered by a couple of Division II schools but they weren't as good as Mountain Union or they didn't offer the major or whatever the case was. I just ended up choosing Mountain Union.

Way to go, Bleacher Report! :P

Nice article from Pluto on the MUC wrestling team:

PD Article

I know we have many on here who are tied to the armed forces so I thought this part would be a point of pride for you all, especially Blutarsky who I know is a big supporter of the ROTC program at Mount:

There was a crash, screams and the bus stopped.
"We had to do something," said Malave. "I told Andy Jenkins to get up front and take over. He is in the ROTC. He knows what to do."
The junior from Woodridge High did just that, enlisting some of the other wrestlers to help set up flares on the road. Others called 9-1-1 for help on their cell phones.

Thanks for sharing.....Jenkins is a great kid.  More and more, the ROTC program at UMU continues to expand and grow.  It's just a matter of time before they have enough kids to support their own unit, and NOT have to drive a couple of times/week to Kent State!  There are so many lessons in the military that go beyond how to fight in a war.

CS3: Yeah I guess you could say that. I had three excellent years after he left and I defiantly learned a lot from Pierre

Defiant learning is new to me too.  ;)

Considering how Bleacher Reports completely botched the other quote above, I wouldn't put any stock that Cecil actually said 'defiantly'. ::)

PG:  CS3, here's how you cut off a pattern when it's two deep coverage.
CS3:  Prove it!
PG:  Which game film do you want to see it on?
CS3: Game film? Game Film? Prove it on the field.

After the game on Saturday
PG: Did you see how to cut off the pattern against two deep.
CS3:  Yeah, but I don't have to like it!

Defiant learning!  ;D

This sort of stuff gets under my skin a little bit. It's nice to read and find DIII related news on a national level, but it's really a let down when the piece is of poor journalism quality. Basic fact and grammar checking goes a long way.

It's insulting to DIII fans, athletes and schools to see stuff like that, almost like we're not taken seriously....maybe I'm overreacting a little  :-[
