Cecil's 40:  4.53

Thanks K & J's Dad! :)

Since he ran a 4.59 and a 4.53, the latter being his second attempt, I assume the "Combine Gurus" take the best times of the two attempt for each player.  Is that correct?

Formerd3db,

Here is the official answer:

Here is what happens to get the 40 times at the combine:

• Those who participate in the 40 actually run twice. On each run they are timed by two handheld stopwatches and one electronic timer (that is actually initiated by hand on the player's first movement).

• Combine data put together for NFL teams by National Scouting includes all six of those times for each player, but no single official time.

Team scouts and coaches have various approaches for getting the 40 time they use from those six sources. Some use averages. Some throw out slowest and fastest and then average the rest. Some ignore the whole thing and use a time taken by their own scout

Remember a show called, "Whose the funny man"? I want to know who is the funny man at the NCAA. Mount Union women start the playoffs with..........wait for it........ Wisconsin Whitewater

I know this is a football forum but some of you have mentioned Mount Union's womens basketball team in the past so I just thought I'd mention that they will be playing the UW-WHITEWATER WARHAWKS in the first round of the post season tournament.  If I understood it correctly the two teams would meet at Thomas Moore College in Kentucky.  Thomas Moore and Piedmont are the two other teams in the bracket.

Oops 70's you beat me to it.

Should be a good game. The Raiders are 25-3 and the Warhawks are 21-6.

Fan-frickin-tastic!

Just so the Gals don't have to play a home game in Maine again!

John Carroll played hard but only had 8 girls who saw any floor time while Mount Union played 13-14 ladies and kept fresh bodies in the game. Raiders ran, pressed, and ran all game and by the end JCU had nothing left in the tank. Congrats to our ladies and here's hoping they can get to the Sweet 16 again.

If that's their style it should be an interesting game because that's what the WARHAWKS do as well.  We'll pressure the length of the floor and go deep into our bench.

Thanks BadgerWarhawk. I feel better about about our chances. Mount's women suffer in ball control games. Should be a fun game to watch. Wish it was televised on the internet since I'm heading south tomorrow

So now, having said that, I'll have to stay in the bus Friday night and watch the game, but considering my buddy's bus is worth more than my house, it won't be so bad.
