I found this article about a future Raider.  I don't know which part I like more, the "signing a scholarship to play football," or the "campus just 10 minutes from Canton, OH."  I need to find out what route they took

PurpleSuit,

I must have missed what position he plays! :-\ Thanks for the link!

That's a link to our season highlights.  Remember we were a first year varsity program and have everyone back as we had zero seniors in 2010.

Let me know what you think...

nothing against the kid from Florida that is going to be a student Prince, but it said he was second on the depth chart going into the season before he broke his leg.  I dont know how any of you can be happy about a second string kid from Florida coming in.  Doesnt seem that big of a deal that Hallet is recruiting from the Sunshine state.

Any other school I might agree with you, but Plant HS is a perennial playoff team from Tampa.  They were 12-3 last year (played a game on ESPN vs. a Texas HS) and were 13-1 in 2009 and won a State Championship.  They also won State Championships in 2006 and 2008.

Recent Graduates are:
James Wilder - RB/LB headed to Florida State
Phillip Ely - QB headed to Alabama
Aaron Murray - QB at Georgia

Yea, but can any of them run down a rabbit in the swamp?

With Coppage, UWW gets the nod, but Mount has alot coming back. The voters may be split this fall on the number of #1 place votes for either school. UWW loses theeir top OL players, Mount returns theirs. It will be another on-going discussion IMHO!

Saw a little bit of the Rattlers/Gladiators game last night.  Rocco looked real comfortable for Cleveland.  I saw him connect for a TD with Robert Redd and did a double take.  Redd has made a pretty nice career for himself in the arena league but he and I worked together at Just For Feet when we were in high school.  I guess our "careers" took slightly different paths.   ;)

Jim Tressel resigns as HC at Ohio State. Luke Fickell will coach in 2011.

I don't know who I feel worse about.  The amoral players who betrayed his trust or Tressel for trying to cover it up.  Both are really sad comments on society and values.

IMHO, the events of this past week with comments by WR Ray Small were the final straw. Although I thought Jim Tressel had a good run at OSU, the Unversity should have asked him to resign much sooner. Now the NCAA still will address any further penalties in August.

That is why D3 football is so meaniful vs. D1. :) Dealing with all the pitfalls causes so many of the D1 programs
to lose sight that going to school should be about education first, football second!

Luke Fickell  and Brady Hoke. Don't think it will make anybody forget Bo and Woody

Mr. Ypsi

70s, for anyone alive at the time, NOTHING will ever make them forget Bo and Woody. ;)

But don't be so fast to dismiss this new possible rivalry.  When Schembechler was hired he was greeted with an Ann Arbor News front-page headline of "Bo Who?"  It took one season to get their answer, as Bo avenged the infamous 50-14 game where Woody went for two, up 48-14 with little time remaining (when asked why he went for two he answered "because I couldn't go for three" :D) by soundly beating Woody's self-proclaimed "best team I ever had".  (Sadly, before that first Rose Bowl, Bo suffered his first heart attack of the heart problems that eventually killed him.)

It has been a wonderful rivalry, even in the eras where one team or the other totally dominated.

I doubt Hoke/Fickell (or Hoke vs. whoever, if Fickell can't shake the interim tag) will be Bo/Woody, act 2, but I suggest we give 'em a chance! ;)
