I was sorry to hear of HOF coach Dave Maurer's passing....
I'm sure some of the "older" guys remember the great OAC games
& Nat. Championships when  he lead Wittenberg.

Of particular note is that the head coach said some pretty strong things

"He's off to a good start for not having the OTAs and the offseason work," coach Jack Del Rio said. "He's got some polish to him for a smaller school guy. He's certainly been coached well. He's fit. He's all business. He's made a nice impression to begin camp. ... I think he's going to be a real good player"

Could have coached cross country again but being ready for those 8 AM summer practice wasn't worth the money

Proud of ya, I'm scouting this year. Intense work for three or six hours a week

Heard some recent good news coming out of Alliance within the last week or so.  A certain HOF HC is reported to be totally energized after his trip abroad, and is very pumped and focused on the upcoming season.  Rumor is he will even go back to calling plays again this year after his stint as OC in Austria.  That is GREAT news for Mount fans.

Jr. called me after two-a-days yesterday, and said........"Dad that was ridiculously hard......a bunch a kids puked!"   I replied......"you know it's two-a-days when the sound of retching is in the air".   ;D

This fall will bring more added excitement for the Raiders:

1. New and improved turf.

2. New Home uniforms

3. A excited HC who  will be more involved than before

4. And, potentially 3 former players playing on Sundays!

August 17th cannot come soon enough, GO RAIDERS!  :) :) :)

All that practice vs the UWW secondary has prepared Cecil well for the next level.  :D
