Not sure when the Pre-season 2011 OAC projection will be announced: Here is my take:

1. Mount Union
2. Ohio Northern
3. Otterbein
4. Capital
5. Baldwin-Wallace
6. Heidelberg
7. John Carroll
8. Muskingum
9. Marietta
10. Wilmington
13 time Division III National Champions

Good Take. The Cards are hoping to upset ONU, even though it is on the road. Most of O-line back, QB, all WR's and majority of defense, although will not have Dominic Jones and Wil Longsdorf. Also, need to replace Brewer at kicker and punter. Back up QB is just as good a punter as Brewer (Kincade) but kicker will be an issue. Health will be important as it always is for teams like Otterbein where depth in not that great. Some that were not healthy last year and under performed are healthy at this point, but you never know. Knock on WOOD !

B38W

Here is what I can tell you about BW.

- 42 returning lettermen
- 17 returning starters
- most will be seniors winning their fourth year letter
- two of the best return guys in the country
- ranked 13th in pre season polls

What we dont have

- alot of depth
- Big enough O line or D line
- A coach that tries to score alot of points

Dont make predictions because they usually bite me in the ass but I think the yellow jackets will have a good year.

Bein_86

It sounds like BW is a contender, when you have that many returning from a team that was good the prior year you are in great shape.

I'm not real sure about Cap this year.  Not as plugged in as I have been in the past.  I do know, like everyone else, that they lose a QB who was All-OAC a couple of times, a RB who was only the second guy in school history to run for 1000 yds in a season, a couple of tall, fast, all-OAC caliber WR's, and most of the secondary from a team that underachieved last year in a big way.

On the flip side, the presumed starting QB this year got a lot of experience last year when Assmann got hurt and they have some reasonable talent returning in a few places, especially on the DL.  Also, they have a roster posted on the website that includes about 55 players (mostly Freshmen) who look like they are new to the program this season.  I don't know jack about any of them, except that one is from Lexington- how did BJ Payne let a kid get to an OAC school other than MUC?

Anyway, I figure if Cap plays to their potential, they are probably a middle of the pack team.  A few breaks could mean a 7-3 year, but that's about as far as I would go with it.

PurpleSuit

PurpleSuit's respectful preseason rankings:

1. Mount

2. BW
3. ONU
4. Ott
5. Berg
6. Cap
7. Musky
8. JCU
9. Marietta
10. Wilmington

raiderpa

inconceivable that JCU continues to fall in the eyes  of the prognosticators.  When will they make a regime change.  A qb from St Eds would have never gotten to Mount a few years ago...although I hear HC is a fine gentleman and all around good person.

The coaching staff is a joke as is the administrations support of the program!

That could be said about JCU, which is also unfortunate! ::)

Not sure about the coaching staff.  They have a lot of young guys looking to make their mark, but I couldn't agree with you more about the administration.   :D

I know nothing about their coaching abilities, but there are at least a few coaches on the staff who are former Capital players from the Collins days, so they have a vested interest in the program and trying to restore it.  I just don't think the administration, like you said, is going to give them what they need to succeed.

Mogadore Alumni football vs Springfield tonight at Mogadore Stdium. Last chance (guaranteed) to see Chuckie Moore albeit probably only at Safety. Also former Mount players Johnny Josef and Tommy Lee. Many from the longest state championship game in Ohio history. Get an early FOOTBALL FIX

Perhaps the Cap. Admin. would be happier in the NCAC.
