Keep in mind the spread-maker has changed.

Thanks, Pat!  It will take me a bit of time to "grow a pair" to put up the big spreads.  [Except on the Wesleyan game this week! :P]

The two things that HS was looking for each week was [1] setting spreads so that he got a nearly 50-50 split, and/or [2] reaming more than half the players on a game.

Beginner's luck ... I had a bit of both last week.   ;D

Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

He's listed on the roster.  Just loaded at the WR position, especially with Claycomb coming back and Denton transferring in.

Denton came from Norwich?  Isn't that a similar route that Pierre took?  FL to Norwich to Mount Union?

#1 as well.  I wouldn't be opposed to similar results

Based upon history, Coach Kehres has to have that break-out player on the roster, but who could it be? I think we will see in the next few weeks! ;D ;D

Everybody loves a star.  And we've been riveted to the perennial headliners in the past couple years.  God knows, I have added Colts and Jags to the short list of NFL games I'm interested enough to watch.  But even with our favorite sons/stand out talent we need something more--We didn't win the national title in Pierre's senior year, nor in Cecil's senior season's 1 and 2.  We need what WWW has shown-- an entire team, playing with discipline, focus and heart.  And that's what I believe we have-- this year,  as in past years.   I   CAN'T  WAIT!

P.S. I believe Branden Mathie has established himself with special teams.

May all of our beloved sons learn a lot about themselves, may they have fun, play well and stay whole.

Well said, having the unity and purpose are  team ingredients thst lead to a great season. It all starts Saturday! :)

You can have all the "discipline, focus and heart" you want.  I'd rather have a much better O and D line play and a RB that actually scares someone.   That will win #11.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

WHAT HSC SAID!

It appears that Skunk & I will make opening day.  Although my football focus has been on counseling Jr. on what it means to be a sophmore on a high school team ("suck it up and work harder" is counseling...right? ;)), we will find the time to get over that way.

Jay....we may be pushed for time depending on when the Hoover JV game gets done, but our plan is to hit our "usual" spot.

Totally agree.  I am in the middle of a situation with our varsity where I feel like I can teach my linemen all I want about discipline and technique but you can't fix 5'9"/180.  We are just way small and all the rah rah speeches and heart in the world doesn't make you as big or strong as the opponent.  That said, I'd love to have a kid that's 6'3"/250 with plenty of heart/dedication/discipline.

Which makes losing Rick Antelli and Matt Mattox already in camp especially painful.

Anxious to see the Raider's new home uniforms. Glad the selection was not made by Maryland advisors! ;D
