Mount Union up 27-10 late in the second.  playing two qb's.  do not see julian moore on the roster?  chris denton catches t.d.pass.

I didn't see Julius Moore either.  Found him on the roster Lenny puts in the game preview.  Looks like he's a 6'1" 190 lb WR from Lakeland, FL.  He's a junior.

Last I heard it was 34-17 early in the 4th.

Lost my last two posts extolling the defense,  so let's Just report. 41-17 with 6:44 to go.

And That's the final.

Congratulations to Mt. Union on the big win.  I am sorry you didn't get a bigger challenge from Oshkosh, I obviously thought it would be closer in the fourth.

Now I have to put more thought into my rankings than I had hoped.

Emma, your guys should have a great season. The O line gave your wonderful qb all day to throw, and so many eluded and escaped initial tackles like I've never seen. Also more converted 3rd Downs than we're accustomed to giving up, save in the 15th game of the season. Defense also stymied us a number of times.  I thought they played well. Unfortunate couple of turnovers on fumbles.  Good luck in the rest of the season.

Thanks Kehresma, I wish the game was streamed as I couldn't get the audio.  Looking at the box score it didn't seem Oshkosh got much done.  I thought their passing game would be better, even as good as Mt's secondary is.

Some pretty surprising scores today, especially with Eau Claire over St. Johns.  Eau Claire lost to Bethel TN last week, and Bethel is in town to play NCC tonight, hopefully I'll be able to take in the first half.

It appears LK has a dilemma with regards to a QB. I was surprised that Pilato got as much time as he did unless LK has second thoughts about Neal running the offense. Frankly I have a little more confidence in Matt than Neal as it gives the "O" the option of throwing the ball down the field...Neal still seems to lack arm strength. Murry ran well against a tough defense...125 yards on 20 carries.

Oshkosh's QB was impressive...that kid was slippery and had a good arm.

All in all a good first half of football...second half not so good.

A well played game over all.  I thought a plus for mt. was only 2 penalties maybe 3.  No turnovers and the kicking game looks alot better than last year.  Mt. secondary is fast but small.  Osk could have exploited this much more.  When they did pass to this advantage they got some big gains and scored on two drives basically via the air.  No 10 for Mt. is 5'8 and he was on number 87 for osk, he was 6'2.  He caught some long balls on the much smaller Mt. player.  The machine looks well oiled to start another run to the stagg.  Should be a very entertaining year.    one other point, running game has some fast good backs but they are all small.  No full back types that can plow ahead.  With all their players I would convert some one to fill this role. They need a blocking back if nothing else.  Duel threat at QB, it would appear so.

After having seen the game, Coach Kehres has given N. Seaman every opportunity to win the job. IMHO, He will not be the guy long term. M. Piloto just has a better arm and touch. You have to be consistent most all the time, and Seaman just is not. While it was the first game it was for both QB's Next week could be more rotating equally. By ONU, Coach Kehres may have his starter. Some real bright spots today, but some areas that need work. The Titans QB Wara, may be one if not the best Mount faces this year. UW-O has some real athletes and are a solid team.  :)

The officials didn't call what appeared to be 2 or 3 pretty obvious pass interference events by umu D that happened right in front if us. We didn't complain...

I'm just glad that the Raiders played today.  I mean last week with only nine OAC schools playing, the OAC Mount Union msg board was completely dead.

I read an article earlier in the week where LK said Piloto was going to get more PT this year.  LK said he regretted not getting him in more last year so he could have been better prepared when Neal went down.

Better arm for sure.  The rest?  I have to respectfully disagree, 68.  As purpled said, Piloto gives them the home run threat.  If he was also the more consistent QB with better touch I think Neal would be holding a clipboard.  I think the reason Seaman is the starter is because LK sees him as the more consistent thrower on the short/intermediate plays.  I went back and looked at the stats.  He completed over 70% in 7 starts last year.  Less than 60%?  Twice.  He's not flashy, he doesn't have the gun...but LK sees something that keeps him on the field.  My uneducated guess is it's consistency and (mostly) smart decision making.  Either way as we saw last year in the playoffs it's a luxury to have 2 good QB's like we do.

Did everybody else in OAC have their bye weeks today? My scoreboard site gives me zippo

So,, given today's Wittenberg score, it appears Ohio Wesleyan and Capital are about equal. Gag, choke, puke. Have the mighty fallen?

I think LK will continue to rotate QB's.  If they are both effective, they will be a scouting and preparation nightmare.  I think this may be the most talented group of receivers that Mount has ever put on the field at the same time. We have always had a couple really good ones with a solid supporting two or three, however, today I saw five that were outstanding and a couple that may be very special.

Driskill looks like a defensive player of the year candidate already, however #10 got beat like a drum today.

My D1 comment of the day is that Denard Robinson is the luckiest passer in history...he sends up more prayers than Mother Teresa and for some reason Notre Dame DB's tonite  were always looking the other way...he is a great athlete but a joke as a QB. I hate Michigan.
