It appears LK has a dilemma with regards to a QB. I was surprised that Pilato got as much time as he did unless LK has second thoughts about Neal running the offense. Frankly I have a little more confidence in Matt than Neal as it gives the "O" the option of throwing the ball down the field...Neal still seems to lack arm strength. Murry ran well against a tough defense...125 yards on 20 carries.

Oshkosh's QB was impressive...that kid was slippery and had a good arm.

All in all a good first half of football...second half not so good.

After having seen the game, Coach Kehres has given N. Seaman every opportunity to win the job. IMHO, He will not be the guy long term. M. Piloto just has a better arm and touch. You have to be consistent most all the time, and Seaman just is not. While it was the first game it was for both QB's Next week could be more rotating equally. By ONU, Coach Kehres may have his starter. Some real bright spots today, but some areas that need work. The Titans QB Wara, may be one if not the best Mount faces this year. UW-O has some real athletes and are a solid team.  :)

Better arm for sure.  The rest?  I have to respectfully disagree, 68.  As purpled said, Piloto gives them the home run threat.  If he was also the more consistent QB with better touch I think Neal would be holding a clipboard.  I think the reason Seaman is the starter is because LK sees him as the more consistent thrower on the short/intermediate plays.  I went back and looked at the stats.  He completed over 70% in 7 starts last year.  Less than 60%?  Twice.  He's not flashy, he doesn't have the gun...but LK sees something that keeps him on the field.  My uneducated guess is it's consistency and (mostly) smart decision making.  Either way as we saw last year in the playoffs it's a luxury to have 2 good QB's like we do.

Dr. Acula,

That may have been true last year, but you have to look at this year. Neal just was not consistent on Saturday after watching him. The qb's will rotate, but given Mount's WR's I would take Piloto. In 2003 the Raiders made to the Stagg with 2 qb's, so we will see! :) :)

I'm looking forward to qbs developmment in reading the field, ala Michelli, to find one of the open five. Granted, that requires time to read. The guys made good choices, no interceptions, and got the W

I am a Michigan fan (my dad graduated from there) and I have to agree with you re: Robinson.  He is not a polished QB nor do I think he ever will be.  He is too erratic and while some people may believe that he can improve over time in the next couple of years, I will believe that when I see it, but am very doubtful.  Anyway, in watching the game last evening, it is clear that Michigan still has much improvement to do in many areas - one area for sure is the secondary as they are terrible.  While Def Coord Coach M has had a good coaching record in the past, it remains to be seen what he can do at Michigan.  Granted it is very early yet.  However, I was not impressed last evening as he/they did not seem to make the defensive adjustments that were needed (some people had commented that they did last week against Western Michigan, yet, we all know that it was...well, Western Michigan ;D).

Anyway, as much as you dislike Michigan, I dislike ND and also Brian Kelley.  IMO, he is as bad as Weis was and I also do not like how he has handled various situations there - he has dropped down on my personal coaching list including the respect category.  Just MO.  BTW, glad to see that Ohio State held out and beat Toledo (assuming you are an OSU fan. ;)).

Piloto looks like a young LK. Of course even young LK had to split time at QB.

Don't really hate Michigan that much, Brett Musburger makes it hard tho when he oozes about Robinson who really is a great athlete, not a great football player...In any ND game, I always root for their opponent.  I will say that Hoke makes it hard to dislike Michigan as RichRod made it easy. I agree about Kelly, it is so much fun watching his face turn tomato red and I just await  his blood pressure to cause his head blow off his shoulders...ha

I agree with you entirely.  I really don't care for Musburger anymore either.  Years ago, he used to be a pretty good announcer.  However, IMO, and many other people seem to agree also, his performance has not been very good in the last decase or so.  His bias for particular teams on whatever game he is broadcasting is so readily apparent.  Also, yes, Hoke just seems to be such genuine nice guy and very humble, so much more than RichRod, who was so disingenuous in many aspects.  I think Hoke is a good coach and will eventually get Michigan back to the level they expect.  And your comments about Kelley's sideline antics are "right on".  Admittedly, I don't have any personal experience in seeing what he was like at his previous coaching stops and although I don't recall anyone making any general comments about his sideline demeanor, I sense that the pressure of being at ND is starting to work on him as I alluded to in my previous post.  Thanks for your reply and opinion.

P.S.  I don't really hate anyone either, but rather let's just say I have a great dislike for some coaches (and some players!)

A big thumbs up to Matt Campbell and Jason Candle for causing brown streaks in many pairs of OSU boxers yesterday.  Matt's play-calling had the Buckeyes bewildered for much of the game, and Jason has crafted a superstar there with Mr. Page.

Last year the Raider defense gave up 28 points to UW- Osh, then did not allow any regular season opponent more than 14 points. UW- Osh has one of the best Qb's the Raiders will face.

CSIII with three returns for Jags today, average 10 yds, longest 27. Think he has found a home. PG85 three catches in a terrible Colts gane

wesleydad

hey all my mount friends.  hope all is well and you guys have a good season.  as far as wesley goes, the loss yesterday was not good.  the defense is not nearly as good as I thought they would be.  250 + yards in both games against the pass.  the offense is just so so, receivers need to improve.  not even sure if they make the playoffs this year since they only have 6 d3 games on the schedule.  they will likely improve as the season goes on, but you cant have a team go 60 yards in a minute to score and then fumble at the opposition 15 if you want to win it all.  is this the first night game for mount in a couple of weeks.  if it is i may find myself crossing pa for the game, the misses is going away for the weekend.  enjoy the year and if things go as they usually do i will see you at the stagg.
