I hope Jake Simon earned more carries after the Cap. game.  He is stronger then anyone I've seen in the last 2 yrs.  The pile moves when he gets hit.  On his T.D. run he showed speed, quicknes, and outstanding cuts.  Mount has some work to do on Off.  I'm not sure the 2 QB attack is working the best.  We will see??

So, Cap Fans, which team will show up against JC?  The one that got spanked by the Berg?  The team that beat B-W?  Or the team that found their Big Boy pants against MUC?

I have no idea what to set the spread.

I'd call it a pick'em but give CAP +3.5 since they're going up to UHeights.  But that's just me.

(And I honestly don't know who I'd pick with that line.)

Thanks, RC!  I do appreciate the comments.  I will probably push the spread beyond what you suggested, but I'm proud to push you above 700 in Karma!

I am asking a serious question. I have not been to the Mount Union stadium but have been going to OAC games for a couple of years (lots as a student), and as I have met and tailgated with fans of other teams all I hear is horror stories of visiting to play the Raiders.

I have always just passed it off as sour grapes as teams journey up to get their annual butt kicking, but I just wondered the take of all the Mount fans.

They say that the visiting fans have assigned seats and not even together and that they are sprinkled amongst UMU fans and that the verbal tormenting is virtually unbearable. With a program of such tradition I can't beleive fans would be this way and that a university would split the oppositions fans up. I am assuming both of these again can be chalked up to sour grapes.

I mean one of the gifts of success should be humilty and class and that is what I am expecting this upcomig Saturday as I take my pligrimage up to Alliance and watch my son's team get their annual tail kicking.

Also, I have ALWAYS rooted for the Mount in all thier championship runs, I hope that these people are all wrong and I can continue to pull for the OAC in this years run.

Thank you.

Seating on the "visitor's" side at Mount is similar to places like Muskingum and Capital, with home and vistor fans sharing the same stands.  This is because the number of seats are about equal on both sides of the field, and Mount's season ticket holders don't all fit on the "home" side.  Also, all walk-up tickets are on the "visitor's" side of the field.  All seating at Mount Union is reserved and the Uninversity does try to keep visiting fans together.  There are two to three sections that usually go to visiting schools.  But if your fans don't travel well, those seats will be sold to Mount Union fans at the gate, so you could end up with Mount fans around you in the same sections.

You will be welcome in the Campus Center for the brunch, and the great majority of Mount fans will treat you as a welcome guest.  There are a few jerks, but I have found that to be true at many stadiums in the OAC.  I hope you won't run into them; that your trip to Mount Union is enjoyable; and that your son has a great game.

Watched the Colts game tonite - wow. Wonder if Pierre is sitting in the locker room thinking to himself "so this is what every team we played in college felt like afterwards"? I was excited when the 1st play was long to Pierre - but it was underthrown and the game was all down hill from there.

Bein: As a Mount fan I have to say that you may run in to "that fan" - every school has them, but I can't recall hearing any of the fans ride anyone...........except the guy from Montclaire State (I think) that was really asking for it. So unless you plan on ripping of your shirt to reveal a big Cardinal painted stomache while shouting "Purple is for p&%$#!" - you should be good to go.

I won't second guess Larry when it comes to football, but perhaps letting guys spend the night in Columbus before the game looks like a real bad idea.
I think CAPs D played inspired today and they showed Mount has some issues. But if Mount had not stayed in Columbus and drank the CAP kool-aid..............

I have an inside source that told me several Mount players were seen at the Denny's chugging syrup just hours before the game!! Among them was Neal Seaman and Matt Piloto. No wonder they were all jittery! ;D

Good time to share (vent)...

Tell me this would happen in Ohio.

We are in the middle of a horrible high school football season and Friday night we played one of our rivals on their senior night.  We had the field according to the other school's AD until 6:40 for pre-game warm-ups.  At 6:35 on the dot, our own marching band took the field while we were running our offensive team plays.  The band literally marched into formation and through our offensive huddle at the 30 yard line.  Our AD told us to get off the field because the band needed to perform.  The band director was in hiding (of course).  It was unbelievable and I can't wait to see what happens Monday morning at school when everything goes down.  I suspect it isn't going to be pretty.

10 or more years ago, most regular season games drew a couple of sections of visitor fans, Of late, visiting fans have been more likely parents and not enough to give up a lot of seats for. You can call the Athletic office and prepay seats and let them know you want to be in a visitors area. Once the playoffs start there is a more clear effort to segregate home and visitors (thanks mostly to drunken Rowan fans)

Yes, there promise to be the same "townie" jackasses we have discussed and been disgusted by for years. Feel free to take them back to Westerville, we won't miss them.

The last time I actually sat in a seat at a Mount game, we lost, hence I lean against the wall.

Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

RC, as a former HS Principal/Superintendent in Ohio for 26 years, I can tell you how the meeting would go in my office......."it's called a football field, not a band field."

Raider 68, I will be there. I have made a promise to my son that I would make every game that is humanly possible. I love him with all my heart and always want to be there to support him.

Here's hoping your experience at the game goes well and the fans are somewhat under control.

I attended the Musky-Ott game Saturday. Without a doubt, your son is a fantastic athlete. He was the only one worth watching at the game. The offensive playcalling on both sides was awful. I can't believe Ott doesn't have more plays designed to #7. They did make the plays when it mattered most late in the game.

That being said, whoever is calling the Musky plays needs to hand over the reigns. The entire offensive gameplan was either horribly designed, or there was no gameplan at all. I think it was about fourth and 7 with under a minute to go and they call a rollout pass for a 3 yard route.

I think its time to go with one QB. Its not fair to either QB.(not getting the necessary reps to be efficient). How do you stand on the sidelines for 15-20 minutes and be expected to bring your A game? I would hope that Piloto has the experience he would need. Its time to move ahead with Seaman. He was the OAC leading QB at different times during his sophomore year. We need to get him back to that level. Its a shame we didnt build on that year! But IMHO, by shuffling him around this year, his lack of efficiency has been affected. If we are going to make it back to the Stagg Bowl, it is going to be through him, by not only making plays with his legs, but by dishing the ball out to our very talented wide reciever corp.
