That's ballgame. Mount 42-0 over OTT. Didn't someone say OTT was a running team? 14 attempts for 15 yards...not a very good day. Based on the numbers Piloto had a good day (granted I don't know how he "looked") 16/22 for 223 and 3tds. Had the pick but doesn;t look like it hurt them. Any thoughts from some at the game as to whether Piloto established himself as a starter today?

The WRMU announcers did a decent job -- not R&M standard, but pretty good.

More proof that Time of Possesion is a wasted stat. Start of the 4th qtr in Alliance. Mount TOP 32:14  OTT TOP 33:30. Score Mount 42 OTT 0. I will admit it is not as good as the Rowan/Mount game where Rown dominated TOP and lost, but its something.

Or go back to an Augustana / Mount playoff game about a decade ago where Augustana had the ball three times as much as Mount and got skunked

Rocco is a cousin I believe

In my advanced years I do believe I made a mistake. It was the Augustana game I was thinking about. Good call.

The coaches tell our players we are a running team. My kid was supposed to be a decoy all day since he drew double coverage. Didn't matter. They did take him out though. Only 77 yds and a bad fumble. Umu fans around us were great

Dr. Acula

The coaches must know something we don't because between Fairchild and the kid from Cloverleaf I'd be loving it if they handed off all day as an opponent.  Much rather take my chances with the ball in Green's hands.

Ott played well for a quarter and a half, then the wheels came off.  The Cardinals look like a team that should be better than they are.  There is some talent there and good size and athleticism. Bein_86- happy to hear the Mount fans near you behaved.  Hope your first visit to Mount Union wasn't all bad.

I hope Neal's injury isn't serious.

Question now is:  Did Piloto play well enough to earn a start, or does Seaman keep the job (assuming the knee is OK)?

ONLY 77 yards?  Up to this point, the only two receivers to do anything against UMU were Marietta's Kirby Harris with 5/72, and Matt White of Cap with 6/75.   Your boy had the most yards UMU has given up to a receiver all year.  And good yards on his kickoff returns.  You should be proud!

Always proud and he said the double teaming with  safety shade was tough, but he was not happy. He competes very hard.

Mt. running game showing more formations and more backs involved.  They now appear to have speed and power with simon.   I've noticed improved blocking schemes and a reduction in offensive penalties.  Coach LK was yelling at a lineman who got flagged for holding.  Pulled him out.  Mt. this year appears to be a run first pass second offensive. Defense has been consistent and solid all year.  Ott took some hard hits today.  Bring on the flaming pile.

"Rocco Pentello"? Did i miss the talk on this during the past week? Rocky's little brother is at OTT? Wonder if Rocky passed on his knowledge of how to stay eligible for 26 years?

I'm betting it's Rocky and that he had plastic surgery.

Raider 68

A few thoughts on today's game, IMHO:

1. Ott played well on the first series or two, good passing game, but there was no running game!

2. Another great defensive game for the Raiders 155 yards, have to be #1 in the country on defense.

3. Hope N. Seaman is OK, but have not heard yet.

4. Matt Piloto will probably start against B-W.

5. Great formations today using Simon as well Murray!

6. Anyone notice the new center today, with Ekkens moving to right guard, wonder if Coach Kehres
was frustrated with the high snaps or due to an injury.

7. Should be a good game against B-W! ;D

Bein, your son is a great athlete. Loved watching him. Big, strong, fast, sure-handed.

On another subject. Watching those punishing  hits by the defense today was reminiscent  of years past, that brick wall volley.
