According to the talk in the stands....supposedly from a relative of Neal's....he has a miniscus tear. Not sure how bad though, he may be back sooner than one might think. NOW do you all appreciate LKs playing both QBs this season?! Piloto looked good the rest of the way, even after his own injury. I Look to see LK play 2 QBs the rest of the way this season. Piloto still does not give the team that scrambling ability to buy time or yardage. Burke does. Hes not 6-6" but you dont need to be on the roll out. When ball control is required to keep the clock rolling you still need a running QB to make the defense pay for blitzing. Im not sure that is Pilotos forte. I see it as situational substituting. Both will play as the game requires. I sure wish we had a converted QB at another position to fall back on ;) Maybe one of the running backs have some hidden throwing ability. I wish Seaman a speedy recovery. Doesnt Super Glue fix EVERYTHING? :)

The coaches tell our players we are a running team. My kid was supposed to be a decoy all day since he drew double coverage. Didn't matter. They did take him out though. Only 77 yds and a bad fumble. Umu fans around us were great

Bein, your son is a great athlete. Loved watching him. Big, strong, fast, sure-handed.

On another subject. Watching those punishing  hits by the defense today was reminiscent  of years past, that brick wall volley.

Thank you for the kind words. He did say the hits were hard and as stated prior the double teams were tough to get open especially with such a good pass rush. Schlosser was running for his life.

Although he loves where he is and so do I, I sometimes wonder how he would have fared at UMU after leaving Syracuse.

Also want to say again how great the surrounding fans were to me. We sat in front of the press box on about the 30. Great, great people. The one gentleman was a former Purdue QB and the lady behind us and her father were very cool, as was the man that sat next to me. Thank you for taking a tough day for us and allowing me to enjoy the best I could.

Well, I've had miniscus tears and they aren't life threatening but they are painful especially when they catch on the tear. I can't imagine seeing Neil again this year.

Bein-86,

Glad you enjoyed your experience at Mount Union and were able to see you son play on a nice fall Saturday. He is indeed a fine athlete and you have should be very proud. For the Cardinals, it was a long day, but the trip for you was a good one. As all the posters indicated prior to the game, it would be a good experience. I hope you had safe travels home we hope you will come to Mount Union again! :)

I have alot of freinds and family that would like to go to the game Saturday. Do you think tickets at the gate will be an issue? If so do you have any suggestions. Thank you.

Well tickets at the gate for BW fans are always a problem. ;D Just wear purple and yell "Go Raiders" and you will be fine! Seriously though I have never had a problem getting tickets at the gate - even for playoff games.

Anybody know what happened to Shorts?  I noticed he didn't get the punt returns today that he normally gets.

He was declared inactive for the game...he was listed as questionable due to a hamstring injury...he did not participate in practice this week.  Jags Injury Report     kffl.com bottom of page

A friend who works in Admissions told me they have the biggest visitation group of the year coming in and that they have requests for over 1,000 tickets.  She's concerned because Admissions is not able to get 1,000 + tickets for the game.  I think it will be SRO on Saturday.  You should be able to call (330) 829-4100 to order tickets.  If you want a number of seats together it's a good idea to do so.  All seating in Mount Union Stadium is reserved.

So then tickets at the gate may be a problem afterall. One thing I never understood about Mount is the "lack" of attendance. I went to Hiram for my undergrad. No one went to a game unless it was Mount. Granted then it was to see Mount. But no one went because you knew Hiram was getting waxed. I can kinda understand not going because they know Mount will win (I have had several students say that) - but man at least you get to go to a great game and see your team win. I took my daughter to a playoff game a couple years back, and a friend of mine met us there and he was amazed we could just walk up to the gate - get a ticket - and walk right in. No issues with parking, lines, seating. He said it was a BIG difference since he is used to OSU games. Granted he also said it was a better game for a fraction of the price.

While having dinner after last weeks game one of the restaurant employees asked out loud "Does anybody know the Mount Union score?"  Someone replied 42-0 and a guy at the next table says loudly "That's why I don't go to the games."  The two night games and the Oshkosh game drew good crowds this year, but I guess many are just not interested in watching Mount blow out another opponent.  For some winning does get boring, although I can't imagine a local HS team with Mount's record not filling the stadium day in and day out.  If McKinley or Massillon had similar records, they would have to enlarge the stadiums.

Anyway, with a big visitation group, and the team we love to hate coming in with a good record I'm anticipating a good crowd for Saturday.  Hope I'm right.

PS - There will be tickets at the gate even if they're just to stand, I just think that if B38W wants a good number of seats together it would be a good idea to call ahead.

Wow, all the years I've stood I never bought a SRO ticket. Somehow Terry and I can usually get Secton 18 row 1 Seats 1 or 2.  I'll never understand why anyone sits down

Saturday could be the largest crowd this year. I remember a fews years back when Cap had Pentello and JCU had Arth, it was a full house. The playoff games, as mentioned already have not been well attended, except for Mary Hardin Baylor! :)
