wow what a game.  Mt. made some dumb plays esp. personal fouls that kept BW drives alive.  The play in question happened right in front of us.  Both players had to come back for the ball.  It was a low pass and it seemed to me that both players were diving for the ball. I could not tell if mt. db had his hand (left) on the bw receiver as it was hidden by the bw players body.  The ref. started to draw his flag and he looked to the other official who had our viewing angle of the play. he indicated no foul so the other official did not throw his flag.  It may have been interfer. but it was a bang bang play that happened very quickly.  I do not believe the bw receiver could have made the catch.  That being said I can see why the bw sideline was throwing things on the field hence a number of personal fouls were called.  All in all a very entertaining game and a real cliffhanger at kehres field today.  Heartbreaker for BW, they almost climbed the mount today.   I won't say Mt. was flat but they kept letting BW back in the game with dumb fouls and some poor tackling.

Bushman, you couldn't be more right. Some stupid mistakes that almost cost Mount the game. The 4th down was not blatant so no call. I believe Mount could have thrown 30-50 yard bombs all day...don't think B-W's d-backs could handle our receivers.

BW put pressure on piloto esp. in the first half.  He needs time to set and throw to be accurate.  BW was not letting him get set.  When he did, he made some  good throws.  Seaman would have scrambled and possibly negated the BW rush.  Guess we will never know on that one.  I see why LK was using two QBs this year.  Ones strength is the others weakness.  Who backs up piloto?  This game showed how I would defense Piloto.  Mt. needs to correct this if and when they play WW.

Obviously with anyone's radio broadcast its going to be jaded one way or another, its hard to judge what is real or not, the BW announcers were very confident it was an obvious call that should've been made.  He even said he made contact with the receiver while the QB still had the ball.  If that was really the case than I would say it should've been called, or he could've been emphasizing the situation some to get his point across (most likely, otherwise if that is true, someone needs to fire those refs).  I dont see the game on my listings for STO so I dont know if its on everywhere or not but I hope it is I want to catch that one.  Probably was an entertaining game to watch.

The Play was very close.  Seeing it live I thought it was pass interference, but by a very narrow margin.  Hardly obvious.  Call could have went either way and it would have been close.  But if I was a BW fan, I'd feel jobbed.  Though it's not a sure thing that they convert from the 25 +/- line with only 10.4 seconds left, but it would have been interesting to see if BW could have made the play.  Too bad it ended the way it did.

BW looked dead and buried after Mount score back-to-back TD's in the 3rd to go up 19-0, but the KO return energized them.  Didn't look like the same team in the final 20 minutes.  Too bad they wasted a sure Pool C bid with the collapse in the final minute against Capital.  BW is a better team than anything Mount will see in the first 2 rounds.

Was very impressed by Piloto in the 2nd half.  He struggled in the early going, but settled down nicely and played well down the stretch.  The last drive, and especially the 4th down TD throw, was a thing of beauty.  Hopefully he has the same confidence growth with this performance like Rocco did against Capital in the final minutes.

Overall this game will be a good thing for Mount long term.    The defense needed pushed around to challenge them to fight thru poor play.  And most importantly Piloto needed tested for his own confidence as well as the team and LK.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

The question is, why was BW throwing on fourth and one. That play was at my end of the field and I never thought it was interference. And why leave a TO on the board?

The personal fouls were not on the bench. The first was on number 80 for coming over to the Mount Union bench and running his mouth. Bad odds, like 155 to 1. Second was on Number 20 who was on the sidelines.

I have got to see my son play alot of football and today was the most fun I have had doing it. Nice weather, great atmosphere and a realy good football game. Dont know if 8 and 2 will get us in the playoffs but i think we have a good enough team to make it. Congratulations on your 20th straight championship.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  I think what they were thinking on the timeout was get the first down stop the clock to move the chains run a play then call the timeout and run one more play.

B38W your kid has "the heart of a tiger" and he left it on the field. Too bad he got injured, he was in great pain just getting his socks removed. BW needed him out there to finish the game. I hope he bounces back quickly.

Piloto came up with the big TD throw when it mattered most. So why am I not so sure he can move this team at will? Does LK ride the Piloto train the distance....or do we still need 2 options?

Throw the holding penalty out the window. Nobody recognizes it when it happens or calls it consistantly or equally anyways.

I thought it was pass interference from my angle also.

With BW coming on every play, the quick crossing route was always open and we finally ran it on the final drive. The blocking on our first couple drives was very bad with the same guy rushing in untouched 3-4 times

formerd3db,

It was a nice crowd, but thought it would be larger given the weather!

Thoughts on the game:

1. B-W was well balanced offensive team and good line play.

2. Defensively, B-W had 7 in the box at all times and we able to pressure Mount's Piloto in the first half.

3. Penalties hurt both teams.

4. Turning point was B-W's TD kick-off return. If that would have not happened, it would have a big Mount  win.

5. The stats indicate the Mount controlled the game, but stats do not win the game and B-W had the
    momentum most of the game.

6. The Raiders needed that final drive to win and they did, even though it came to a 4-11 play.

7. For both teams, it helped the Raiders with a tough battle going forward and for B-W gave them the
belief that their program now can complete for the top in the OAC.

Great game yesterday, not only for the players, but also for the fans, both purple and yellow. I believe we all got our money's woth plus some. too bad today's game probably won't be as exciting (Browns). it was a hard fought battle for 60 minutes and you could tell our boy's left it out on the field. Now it is time to put this game past and dget ready to play John carroll. Good luck Mount Union next week against muskingum. #94 dad.
