If St John Fisher made it, why not Heidelberg.

Also weird how they have the brackets set up this year.  Looks like the NCC folks will get to find out if they are better than Mount, as they keep suggesting (especially concerning last year).
Skunks,
I don't recall any NCC posters specifically saying that NCC would have beaten UMU (even last year). Several UWW supporters did express this sentiment on the CCIW board, however, so I could see where you might be confused.  NCC posters may have said that we'd have had an easier time with UMU than UWW last year (which was supported by the Stagg Bowl result). The general feeling out of Naperville is that we can compete with you big 2 (as evidenced by last year's quarterfinal performance) but nobody can count themselves among your number until they take you out. We are honored to have an opportunity to do so if we can take care of business in the early rounds.

There's usually a rhyme and reason where a team is placed in a bracket...and it nornally follows a pattern (that is in any bracket I've seen/made). With that said, the committee has certainly been creative this year, so maybe they decided to create a new style in bracket formation, as well.

This is not a new style. Top seeds host the games in the corners of a bracket. Not unusual at all.

My comment was said thinking they wouldn't place Del Val at #1 and St. Thomas at #2 - the committee obviously did just that. So, the bracket is normal.

Because they lost head-to-head to Baldwin-Wallace. And why not Baldwin-Wallace? Probably because one of their losses was to a regionally unranked teams. The top two two-loss teams on our board both had two losses to regionally ranked teams.

Now we know the rankings of the #1 seeds:

1.  UWW
2.  Mount Union
3.  UMHB
4.  Delaware Valley

Thanks for the clarifications Pat. Guess that is why you are listed as both 'guru'  and 'all-american' while I am just a lowly 'starter'. I guess what it all boils down to, in spite of what the ESPN college football guys think, is that with a tournament the regular season games do count! I never understood why Herbstreit and the rest of them think that a tournament format somehow makes the regualr season not matter. Oh well. To the Berg and BW: great seasons (especially Berg!) maybe next year.

Now have we settled whether Mount is a #1 or a #2? I too would be somewhat confused if Wabash somehow hopped over them. Additionally, if the #1 seeds win out, who hosts the semifinals?

EDIT: 1st question answered by schwami. Thanks. What about question #2?

UWW and Mount Union would host semi-finals this year.  Unless they mess up the paper work for hosting  :P

Wow.  I never thought we'd see a bracket like this.  Wonder what they were smoking?  Almost thought some of these were typo's.  Putting Linfield and Wesley together in Round 2 is just crazy.  Going to make for some interesting match-ups, but I never saw this one coming.

Initial thoughts:
1.  Whitewater has a cakewalk to Salem.  No decent threats in their region and none of their potential semi-final opponents have any kind of playoff history.  So much for someone taking them out for us.
2.  MHB got a really crappy draw!  Yikes.
3.  Mount can sleep walk thru the first two rounds, but NCC in the regional finals is going to be very tough.  I've yet to see a CCIW team that isn't a serious challenge.  Then the semi-final looks to be very tough against MHB, Linfield or Wesley.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Sorry forgot to put that in "being facetious font"

I'm with HSCoach. The left side of the bracket is a joke

Whew! glad the real Pat and Schwami clarified things!! no need for Vanna now... :)
so next question to figured out is when will Pat Coleman be in Alliance again?

I honestly don't think Kean (Who beat Wesley), Salisbury, Del Val and St. Thomas are Jokes.  I think UWW will be challenged from the Quarterfinals onward.

Obviously you didn't see my Titans at UWW two years ago! :(  (I honestly thought we had a defense that season that could seriously slow them down; I was wrong.)

St Thomas is a lot better team than you guys are giving them credit for.  They will pose a significant challenge to us if both teams are fortunate enough to advance to that level.

Much Agreed, not sure what google map system they were using with the possible Linfield/Wesley 2nd round match up, but sure would be a game to see!!
