Thank you for the kind words. Yes, Trey will be back next year, but he is hoping that next year is not his last in football. Now that he can actually take a full offseason to work out, he is hoping to get himself in better shape and get stronger and faster. His goals are very high.

Now UMU needs to go out and get the championship back in the OAC where it belongs.

Good Luck UMU !!

I want to also thank my son for an exciting year. Record wise it was tough for the Bein 3-7, but they played hard all year in a year of adversity in losing 5 of those game by a total of 20 points.

Hard to believe the season is over for most of us.

I know my kid does not read this stuff, but Trey you faced double teams, most teams kicking away from you on returns and an overbearing father ( ;)), but you still had the second best year in recieving yards in school history 1,133 and did it on only 66 catches and also managed 2,138 all purpose yards (a lot for a WR) and through it all you were classy, never complained and only talked about trying to get wins. I love you more than you will ever know, I hope to be like you when I grow up  ;D. You have turned into a good man.

Classy post and great season for your son, Bein_86.  Aside from adding his name in the Ott record book I'm sure 1st-team All-OAC and possibly the Ed Sherman Award are on the horizon.  You've been a great addition to the board so I'm happy to hear you'll be around regularly at least another year.  +K

i was hoping for a little rematch unless you feel like you have to play purple all the time.
That would be real nice, knowing it would be in Salem then! Good Luck to your Wolverines and to meeting in Salem for a few brews. You want some of those wings again? LOL

If that rematch happens it will be at Mount Union in the Semis.  Good luck Wesley Dad, hope to see you in Alliance.

My bad Rscl70  :)  these brackets got so scrambled i swore Wesley was over on the UWW side.

Reasons why I'm more optimistic this year. In 2010 UWW was 1st in Total Offense and 5th in Total Defense while Mount Union was 22nd and 4th. This year UWW is 19th in total Offense and 20th in total defenses while Mount Union is 9th and 1st. So despite the naysayers this is a better team.

Heard a rumor that there is no guarantee that MTU will be playing at home next week, even with a win this week, because they are changing the rules or something? Anybody else hear anything about this?

We all need to keep Clayton Hull and his family in our prayers and help them in any way we can. I'm also praying that they catch the gutless wonder that left that poor boy lying there for someone else to find. Sure hope he is able to recover and come back to play the game he loves.

Thanks. 1st team would ber a great honor. I do, not know what the Ed Sherman Award is however. Must be a good one.

Lots of very good players in this league. I just hope Trey has the coaches respect. He played very hard this year as did all those young men each saturday

What, you're not curious what Benedictine might bring to the table?

That is wrong.  I think people are looking into the whole "there are no seeds" stance by the NCAA.  Mount is the top ranked team in their pod, actually in both pods on their side of the bracket.  Unofficially, the only team "seeded" higher than Mount is UWW and that game would be played at a neutral site.  Mount will be at home for all the playoff games that they play.

I'll be more curious to see which of the injured Mount players suit up for this game.  Starting to build up quite a list of starters who are dinged up.  Collins, Jordan, Gildersleeve, and I could have sworn that Fechko and Orteca were both out against the Muskies.

All I know is Massey ranks them 177 out of 235

With limited roster spots I doubt Larry wastes spots on people that aren't sure to play

Sorry....the Ed Sherman Award is given to the OAC's best WR each year.  I would be surprised if he didn't win it.

If St John Fisher made it, why not Heidelberg.

they only give out 32 seeds...

The Canton Repository reported the individual responsible for the injury to Clayton Hall was arrested. LK spoke to the HOF lunch crowd in Canton today and indicated the young man should have a full recovery and even perhaps play again. He is not paralyzed.

Great news!  Was he initially paralyzed, or were early reports overly melodramatic?
