Thanks again for the info guys, I just received word that BU is having a reception dinner at the pro football HOF on Friday so I am looking forward to that and my trip out to alliance... thanks again guys.

d3fan1515,

If you have some time and want a fine meal at a great location, go to Gervasi Winery in North Canton.
It is on 55th Street. Probably the one of best restaurants in the area! Enjoy your Mt. Union experience! :)

If you're going to Gervasi, bring the bank book along.  Another "gourmet" opportunity in Canton is Bender's Tavern (Canton's oldest and finest, downtown at 2nd and Court SW) excellent beef and seafood.  As at Gervasi, be prepared to spend some bucks.  Then again, if you're from the Chicago area it may not seem so expensive.

As 70's mentioned I will and do eat in Alliance.  I like Polinori's at 1441 Liberty Street.  A neighborhood place with a good bar and an Italian menu very reasonably priced.  While at the bar check out the large South Carolina flag (a gift from Lou Holtz) and other memorabilia.  I don't think 70's cares for Poli's which is another good reason to go there.  Opens at 4:00PM.

Great place to take your homecoming date. Wait I took mine to Jeanette's. Sorry, not a big fan of anything with tomato paste on it, in it or near it.   I will still recommend the cheeseburgers at the Naborhood for lunch which is where I maybe after the half.

Benders is great especially of you can expense it.

I'll be in the market for talent this year. Maybe they can bus some hotties in from Copeland Oaks

My wife loves the spaghetti sauce at Polinori's.  Only problem is that they still somehow have a smoking section there and the whole place smells like cigarette butts.

Not sure how 70's came up with his screwy numbers - maybe his girlfriend just selected her favorite numbers based on the pretty sound of them - but I'm almost 100% certain UWW was never #1 nationally in total offense last year. This year offense UMU #7, UWW #24; Defense UMU #1 (when have we seen that before?), UWW #18.  But you forgot one important stat for this year - Total Average attendance UWW #1 (8,040/game) UMU #13 (4,043). Also, Mount was probably #1 in defense heading into the Stagg only to come out #4 (if that number is actually correct). Seriously, posting the link where you found last years numbers would be helpful. I simply don't believe your numbers are correct for last year. It would be interesting to see what the numbers were like heading into the playoffs and then after the Stagg Bowl.

What the Heck does Total Average Attendance have to do with this conversation?

How about this random fact:
UWW Undergraduate Enrollment - 11,500 10,671
UMU Undergraduate Enrollment - 2,200

Or This:

Percentage of Average Attendance to Undergraduate Enrollment:
UWW:    69.9%  75.3%
UMU:  183.77%

It was about as irrelevant a "stat" as 70's were wrong!!  ;)   :o  Plus it was the only one I could find where UWW has a clear advantage over UMU!!  ;)

When I was in school, not all the students went to games (being at a commuter school most went home to their cities and towns for the weekend)...when did that change Dad?

Yeah but you have approximately 8,000 more alumni per year to pull from for attendance to games after they leave school. ;)

Sorry for the interruption, but just got thru with some banter about age on CCIW.  When guys young enough to be my son make complaints about their age, I go postal! :P

I'm sending my dad (93) over to clean your clock! 8-)

[And, on a good day, he just might - I ain't giving him any guff! ;D]

I'm not sure that's remotely possible. Think about it, 8,000 of a schools total of 10,000-11,000 undergraduate students graduate each year, going from student to alumni? No way.  Maybe 8,000 students every 4-5 years would be more like it - but even that seems a tad high. No doubt UWW has more living alumni (deceased ones too) potentially able to attend games. But how many of them stay in the area and able to attend games regularly is something I couldn't answer - and it's a lot of nit-picking anyway. Again, this is probably the ONLY stat UWW comes in ranked higher than UMU and that was my point in the first place. I didn't think anybody would get so worked up over an obvious joke in the first place. Sorry for the misunderstanding.  :-[   :-X

Bobo-Stats by week are readily available through the NCAA Stats link on this site. Sorry the ones I used were regular season 9 week stats. At the time the tenth game stats weren't avaialbe. After the Stagg stats wouldn't have made much sense

Please see HSCoach for the Quoting 101 class.

I'll admit I haven't been there since 2007 (long drive trom Tampa to Alliance), but it ALWAYS smelled like an ash tray there.  My wife hates going to places that have smoking, but still went to Polinori's because of the great food.

And yes I am on Medication, I self medicate regularly!

Jr's mom & I used to eat there 20 some years ago, and it was OLD and NARLY back then.  I can only imagine what it looks like now (probably about the same).  Next thing you know someone will start talking about how good Cornie's steaks are/were.   ;)
