Poli frickin' NORI'S???????:o

Jr's mom & I used to eat there 20 some years ago, and it was OLD and NARLY back then.  I can only imagine what it looks like now (probably about the same).  Next thing you know someone will start talking about how good Cornie's steaks are/were.   ;)

There have been some "upgrades."  New booths and the old wall paper has been stripped and the walls repainted; but if they changed too much it wouldn't be Polinori's anymore.  As to smelling like an ashtray, I really haven't noticed, but maybe I'm not as sensitive as some.  Anyway, when I see lines out the door just about every Saturday, I have to think they're doing something right.  There's even an occasional LK sighting.

Where are the BU fans?  Can't we find something better to debate than Alliance restaurants?

Polinori's may be inexpensive, but the place is not real clean and is dark and does still retain the smoke from many years gone by. The food however is still pretty good. Another place is the old Jeanette's on Main street, but is farther from campus than Polinori's. Canton has much more to offer and things to do.

The best bet on game day is the brunch at the Campus Center plus it has the best football atmosphere than any of the other places, IMHO! :)

Yeah but you have approximately 8,000 more alumni per year to pull from for attendance to games after they leave school. ;)

I'm not sure that's remotely possible. Think about it, 8,000 of a schools total of 10,000-11,000 undergraduate students graduate each year, going from student to alumni? No way.  Maybe 8,000 students every 4-5 years would be more like it - but even that seems a tad high. No doubt UWW has more living alumni (deceased ones too) potentially able to attend games. But how many of them stay in the area and able to attend games regularly is something I couldn't answer - and it's a lot of nit-picking anyway. Again, this is probably the ONLY stat UWW comes in ranked higher than UMU and that was my point in the first place. I didn't think anybody would get so worked up over an obvious joke in the first place. Sorry for the misunderstanding.  :-[   :-X

Sorry for the bad math, I was self medicating with a $2.47 bottle of wine from Walmart last night.  ;)

Is everybody healthy for the game Saturday?

I know they have a very good all purpose back at BU, contain him and UMU should win the game.

He are the best of wishes from Trey and I in UMU climbing the first of 5 steps on the ladder.  ;D

Bein_86,

Neal Seaman will not be ready, but have not heard about J. Collins and C. Jordan. I think we could see some playing time for both. HScoach probably knows! :)

Polinoris is great.  Best restarant in Alliance.  It's atmosphere is not of fine dining but the food is great and the prices were always great when on a college budget.

I would not expect to see any of the banged up players this week at all, and there is a good chance we won't see Seaman any more this year.

They won a few championships I believe. They're kind of a bid deal, people know them.

.....they have many leather-bound books...and smell of rich mahogany...   8-)

On offense, Mount is going to spread the field with 3-4 WR nearly every play.  The WR group is missing the top WR, but is still among the best groups in D3.  I would expect a big dose of the running game on Saturday.  Mount will rotate three RB with two smaller, quicker backs and one bigger, more power back.

On defense, Mount uses a 4-2-5 scheme.  The defense uses speed to shut teams down.  The backfield is missing the top CB, but is still the strength of the D.  S Nick Driskill is probably the best overall player on the team and will be causing headaches all day long for BU.  He will be used in pass coverage as well as blitzing off the edge.

The best chance for BU might be in the return game.  They will likely get plenty of chances to return kicks and Mount has given up a couple of big returns this year.  We'll see if that continues now with the smaller roster and more starters playing special teams.

Obvious #2 in the nation?  Wow, you are brave, 1515. That kind of comment usually gets people on thin ice in a hurry around here!!
