I agree 100% with you Pat if you want to be a playoff contender year in and year out you can not lose to teams that are year in and year out at the bottom of their conferences!

Hey guys, I posted something very similar on the NAC board about the offensive play calling for BU being SUSPECT... Now you guys can see what I've been dealing with all year! We lost our last game of the year this season due to TERRIBLE clock management as well! If not for fantastic individual efforts by our impact players, we would have never made it to the post-season! I am usually not one to call out coaches, but there are times when it is laughable as you saw against Mt. Union! I am hoping for some sort of change as BU has some very talented players! WORST 2 Minute Drill I have ever seen, either your running the clock out, or your trying to score, PICK ONE!

Next yr we return 9 on O and 9 on D, they are also beefing up their non-conf schedule, which if we can win out in conference will hopefully help in seeding and maybe we wont have to play a Mt. Union or UWW... Great game by Mt, that defense really flies around and I am pulling for you guys, if your going to lose in the Post-Season, it might as well be against the champion! Good luck guys!

Just for conversation, what were your impressions of the BU team? Did anything about them impress you or no???

I was impressed with the way the Eagles came out in the 2nd half and didn't quit.  That pick six to end the first could've been a perfect opportunity to pack it in.  The defense had been on the field for a ton of time, Mount was getting great field position, it was a tough go.

Unfortunately for BU, they lack team speed on both sides of the ball to play with the big boys.  This was particularly evident in the trenches.  Benedictine has some size on the o-line, but speed rushes off the edge killed them, Mount was able to get pressure with 3 and 4 man rushes.  On the other side, Mount's o-line had its way all afternoon.  And don't forget the 1300+ yard RB was caught from behind on his big play.

No shame in losing to Mount, though.  Believe me, I've seen a lot worse from my alma mater.  Best of luck next season.

Wearing my Bridgewater t-shirt. Getting in a Stagg Bowl mood, but it could be a rough road to Salem this time

Never a moments doubt about Big Mike Hallet as Coach of the Year.

Me neither,,I coached that kid(probably his biggest drawback) ;D

A great honor for Coach Mike... Very big congratulations from one of his former players in Kentucky.  Now... did someone say the bad grammar state of KY???  I can think of 10 states worse!!!  Carry on... hope to see you fools the night before the National Semifinals in Alliance.

Only in Kentucky would it be both

You would love Kentucky for the talent level in the state... the UK girls are a talented bunch.

Isn't it about time for an email to me sizing up Mount's competition this postseason?  Me thinks so...

And don't forget the 1300+ yard RB was caught from behind on his big play...

He also bounced off three to four Mt. Union defenders in the process... I watched the run on film, sooner or later pursuit does catch up to a ball carrier when you break that many tacklers! But I'm not on here to talk about that run, I was just simply trying to start conversation about the BU team, I agree with you, team speed is a problem, but #1's speed is not! Good luck to Mt. Union the rest of the way, like I said I am pulling for you guys to bring home the Championship! Good luck guys!

In my humble opinion, here's my impressions of Benedictine:

1.  Your coach called the 3rd quarter the way he should have called all 4 quarters.  Playing Mount straight up with that roster is not going to get it done.  Should have pulled out all the stops from the very first snap.  The last 2 minutes of the 1st half was "curious" to say the least.
2.  #1 Borsellino (TB) was very good.  Not the biggest or strongest runner, very very slippery.  Was easy to see why he was the focal point of the Benedictine offense.  Very comparable to Blair Skilliter (#23) for Mount.
3.  #12 Brown (QB) has some running skills but looks to be less than average as a passer.
4.  WR's were average other than #11 Austin.  He'd look real good in purple as a flex TE.  He's a talent.
5.  O-line was an average OAC quality line.  Not good, but not bad either.  Probably equivalent to Marietta or Muskingum.
6.  #97 Lockton (DE) was very good.  Probably better suited as DT than DE, but he's more disruptive on the edge.    Rest of DL was weak.
7.  #44 Buonavolanto (LB) was a good one too.  Blew up a couple screen plays all by himself.  Don't ever remember seeing either of the other LB's.
8.  Secondary as a whole was completely over matched by the Mount receivers, but that's to be expected.  The WR corps is the strength of this team.  Too bad you missed seeing the best one of the bunch in Junior Collins. ;D
9.  Guys that I think were talented enough to get playing time for Mount, in order of preference, would be:  Austin / Lockton / Borsellino

Overall I was impressed by your team's physical effort, they just couldn't match up in strength or speed.  I've witnessed more talented teams than Benedictine just roll over and die as soon as they step on the field against Mount.  You should take pride in knowing they fought as hard as they could for as long as they could.  Good luck next year.  Hope you make it back to the playoffs again to judge your progress.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

I think that O line would be much better if they spent a little more time doing sprints and a little less time at the dinner table.
12-0 = 13

My thought about the Benedictine team is....how do you make the playoffs with a kicking team like that? The punting game was ponderous. No field goals were attempted, even when 3 would have been better than nuttin. Granted you would not have tied or led at the that point in the game, but you did have the wind advantage and reasonably close range. Might have fired up your offense to know they could score on MUC.

Good point HScoach and he's only a freshman too! He ran great clean routes and very good receiver, very impressive.
Reminded me of a guy called Randall Knapp.
Congrats to Alex Ferrara on being a  Gagliardi finalist, much deserved and a terrific person! Good Luck!!
