Raider 68

In a earlier post, I mentioned that the Raider offense would be sharper this Saturday. The Head Coaches, LK and ER will also be ready for a game of adjustments. Excitement is really building for this match-up, IMHO! :)

Isnt Eric Raeburns wife a former MUC cheerleader? Would love to see her do her thing with the current crop of cheerleaders...just for old times sake...to show she still has it! ;) As I remember the last Wabash journey into Alliance, they had no cheerleaders. By the way, I have gotten advance playoff seats for over 15 years. Nothing new. Maybe other schools dont want the headache of opening the ticket office on other than game days. Im sure the NCAA wants the money as soon as you are willing to part with it. I would ;D

wabash fans, i will vouch for the hospitality of the mount fans.  I have been there on several occasions and from meeting them on friday evening for wings, sad to hear that the wing joint is OOB or driving 6 hours in the morning to meet for a great mexican breakfast with frozen margaritas before the game, they are great people and very knowledgable.  They have a right to be brag, when yu win that often you get that right, but they do it in a way that is not belittling unlike some posters from another program.  I have also spent time with several of them at the stagg bowl and they put together a pretty good spread for breakfast, still remember the biscuits adn gravy from a few years ago.  Enjoy the trip and good luck this weekend.

You do know that Wabash is an all-male college, right?

Those guys in the striped pants are our version of cheerleaders. They are called the Sphinx Club.

They may not be the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, but they're Wabash! ;)

Seeing as how Ohio State colors also involve scarlet, we would be more than happy to adopt their cheerleaders for the game Saturday!

Here is some footage of the Wabash Sphinx pledges showing off their chants and yells in 1928.  It is the first couple minutes of this clip.  At the end, around 13:10, is footage of the newly finished Butler Bowl, which will be familiar to Indianapolis residents.

LOL, was a great time having breakfast at the Stagg then, but glad they went back to an evening prime time schedule for tailgating purposes.

Burke was a warrior on Saturday.

This Coach/Mentor/Uncle vs Student/Asst/Nephew thing is huge isnt it?

I gather that Raeburn is one of Mount's favorite sons, eh?

My take on the match up. Might be family, but LK has a job to do.

BW-3's in Alliance went out of business apparently, is there another Wing place in the same location?

No wing specialty place in Alliance any more, although there is a place called the Blue Fig that does pretty well with their's.

Was it the lack of talent on Friday nights in December that did in Wing Warehouse???

Lack of talent, lack of hygeine, lack of following the state liquor laws.....that's just my guess.   8-)

SF - you going to make it up for this one?

@d3jason

Great stuff from the Wabash archive. Neat to see the Butler Bowl in it's infancy. I was there when I coached at Wesley in '98 or '99. Awesome place to play and to walk through the field house where they shot Hoosiers was pretty cool too. One of the neat features was walking down into the basement of Hinkle FH and and then down the tunnel on to the field.

Have to echo Wesleydad's sentiments on the Mount faithful. I am sorry to hear about the Wing place I was looking forward to visiting that place again someday. (Hopefully, next week.) I've been following the Raiders on STO replays (Directv) for the past month and it looks like they have it rolling as usual.

University of Mount Union bought the property that housed the Wing Warehouse and they did not open elsewhere.  I think they are building more residence halls.

Question for the OAC faithful:

In all honesty, in relationship to all the other conferences in the nation, how does the OAC stack up competition wise. Is it at the top of the heap? Middle? Lower?
