Looking forward to the trip to Alliance on Saturday.  Coming over with an old friend who is a Mount Union guy (he did not attend Mount Union, but his father was the head basketball coach back in the peach basket days, and later the AD) and some of his relatives who are season ticket holders.

Is general public parking available at the North end of the stadium in the lot next to the Hoover-Price Campus Center?

What's the word on Doug's '57 Diner?  Worth the stop?

Schwami,

Yes, there is additional parking on Hartshorn, just west of the stadium, if you get there early enough.
Doug's is still there, but would suggest the College Inn, corner of State and Parkway. In all cases the earlier the better!

Unless they've changed their hours for the playoffs, the College Inn does not open until 11:00 AM.  If you're looking for a place to eat before the game that's cutting it close.  Parking near the Campus Center fills up fast, but there is parking near the dorms NW of the stadium and an easy walk to the Campus Center.  Also there is parking south of the stadium directly across State Street from the campus.
12-0 = 13

Does the college still do the huge brunch buffet in the playoffs?  If so, that's great food and well priced.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Yup, and except for those who choose the HS finals Sat, I'd expect the biggest crowd so far. This should be a great game.

BW-3's in Alliance went out of business apparently, is there another Wing place in the same location?

No wing specialty place in Alliance any more, although there is a place called the Blue Fig that does pretty well with their's.

Was it the lack of talent on Friday nights in December that did in Wing Warehouse???

Lack of talent, lack of hygeine, lack of following the state liquor laws.....that's just my guess.   8-)

SF - you going to make it up for this one?

I'm scheduled for work on Saturday morning --- talking to the boss about moving it/switching.  Trying to get out of it.. would love to see MOUNT and Wabash, especially with the Wabash QB.  If not, then I'll be up next weekend, I think?

SaintsFAN:

Check your PM - I sent you a message.

Question for the OAC faithful:

In all honesty, in relationship to all the other conferences in the nation, how does the OAC stack up competition wise. Is it at the top of the heap? Middle? Lower?

It is generally considered to be the #2 conference from top to bottom, the WIAC being the strongest.  Some other conferences such as the CCIW might have an argument about that.

Thank you very much...would this be the consensus?

That's where we have traditionally ranked the OAC as well.

Awesome...not being as familiar, my kid wanted to know how they stacked up talent wise against the balance of the country. Thank you gentlemen. You see some unreal numbers statistically and then some of the teams in the playoffs lose by lopsided scores, so it make you wonder. Must make it difficult to pick those at large teams.

Browns just released LS Ryan Pontbriand, anyone think Kyle should get a shot with his dad's old team?

Congrats to Mount ladies BB now ranked 9th in the nation.

That would be nice, wouldnt it! Poor Ryan...I guess HE was the reason the Browns only won 4 games so far. ::)  If screwing up 2 weeks in a row is actually just cause for getting released...then there are about 6 other players that may as well start packing now. Kyle Miller signing with the Browns may end up a fate worse than death. Would a responsible agent even advise their client to sign with the Browns? Kyle is used the being around winners, it would take some REAL adjusting to play for them. ;D

Going thru the info for Saturday's broadcast and a couple things jump off the page concerning the Wabash defense.

1.  They're very good.   Here's their national rankings thru 12 games:
  -  Rushing D (5th) = 73 yds/game
  -  Pass Eff D (14th) = 95.51 rating
  -  Total D (13th) = 250 yds/game
  -  Scoring D (6th) = 12.3 pts/game

2.  They're very young.  Here's their starters by class:
  -  (3) Seniors
  -  (2) Juniors
  -  (3) Sophomores
  -  (3) Freshmen

With only 3 seniors, and who knows if any of them actually have a medical year remaining, the Wabash defense is going to be crazy good next year too.

By contrast, here's the same data on Mount:

  -  Rushing D (3rd) = 70 yds/game
  -  Pass Eff D (1st) = 68.06 rating
  -  Total D (1st) = 179 yds/game
  -  Scoring D (1st) = 7.3 pts/game

  -  (5) Seniors
  -  (5) Juniors
  -  (1) Sophomores
  -  (0) Freshmen

Not sure what all these numbers will mean come Saturday, but I would expect the points to be hard to come by.  Should be a great game.

Isnt Eric Raeburns wife a former MUC cheerleader? Would love to see her do her thing with the current crop of cheerleaders...just for old times sake...to show she still has it! ;)

Creepiest post in recent memory in Post Patterns?  Judges?

I hate to rain on the parade, but I don't think this will be a close game. Wabash hasn't played a passing team like Mount. They have to cover four very good wide receivers, with size and speed they simply cannot match up with.  Mount's running game is the best it's been all year and the QB and offensive line are in a groove. Mount by four, and I don't mean points. No disrespect intended or implied.

As for me. I suggested it would be a good game, not a close one

I realize that I'm typically a "glass half empty" kind of guy, but my idea of rolling and in a groove is a lot different than yours.   Mount could win comfortably, but I sure don't expect it.  This offense is way too inconsistent for me to have faith in an easy win.  Haven't looked at the spread, but if I was stilling setting them it would probably around 8.5
