Bein86,

Great comparative analysis, thanks for the insight.  Those 2 are the top 2 receivers (#'s wise) to play at Wittenberg.  Cooper was 6'4, McKee was at least 6'2.

Usee - my comments weren't a slam on NCC at all.  I agree with your points.

You are welcome, being a WR's father I watch all the WR's pretty closely. I think you will find Collins to be a very good athlete and playmaker when healthy. The other WR's run VERY disciplined routes and have sure hands and anyone who plays for Mount can play well. Claycomb has really come on at the end of the year and impressed me when we played them.

Raider 68

The game on Saturday between two 12-0 teams with good defenses and offenses could come down to turnovers. Mount has +21 and Wabash +12, so the advantage goes to the Raiders! Weather for Saturday is forecasted to be dry, partly cloudy and around 44 degrees! :)

One possible deception in the passing numbers is that half the snaps in the first 8 games were to a running/short passing QB

How many of those +21 carry over to Saturday?

Ok....so has anyone been to this place Vesuvio Brick Oven Pizza?  Do they have wings?  Do they have beer?  (A staple for any get together)   ;D

Also, what are your thoughts about Rey's 62?  I see they have wings & burgers, and heard the place is pretty decent.

I need to make a decision today so we can get the word out to all, including the Wabash faithful making the trip.

Thoughts/comments/suggestions.......you have approximately two hours to convince me one way or the other.

Carry on!   ;)

I'm just glad I'll be at home in FL this weekend so I don't have to see the silly boys running around in striped overalls.

They're different and I don't understand them!  Quick...mock them!

Good point. Heidelberg came to Mount leading the nation in TO%. When they left Mount Union was leading the nation

I dont know who is suggesting Vesuvio's unless it is the owner...never heard of the place until this board

The wings situation in ALliance has taken major hits with the closure of a couple places.

Of the places in town, I would suggest the old Bier Haus now called "Chives" is pretty respectable and a good place for wings and the like and just a couple blocks from the campus

I have been reading all the posts from the past few days and would love to be able to say that Mount will destroy Wabash (I don't understand the red/white overalls and therefore hate em!!). However, I have no idea how this is going to pan out. On the one hand Mounts D is impressive and should dominate the Lil' Giants (BTW why is it "Lil Giants" and not just Giants? It's kind of like being the "Baby Tigers"). While Mounts D has given up more than I expected to Benedictine and Centre - I put some of that on the offense not sustaining drives and finishing with scores. That leads me to my problem with this game: Mounts O. At times it is quick strike, dominating and efficient - at others it is self imploding, mistake prone and just plain bad. This game could be 42-7 Mount just as easy as it could be 21-17 Wabash. I have faith in LK and trust that Mount will come out fast on Offense and that VK will pressure all day long. In the end Mount will prevail - even if it is by sheer force of will and an ugly game.

Been trying to research a place in Alliance and it's slim pickins.  What about Tailgator's Sports Bar & Grill?  We're in Alliance as I think a good number of Bash fans.  The Bierhaus website didn't pull up so Chives may be a good spot.

I was actually just talking to a couple of my students about this today and they suggested Tailgater's as well--said they had really good wings and a good selection of brews as well.  It's on the east end of State Street about a mile east of campus.

I live in Alliance and have never heard of Vesuvio's either.

Vesuvio's Brick Oven Pizza was suggested by one of the regulars who I have faith in.  He has not responded to these last few postings, so I am fine with either Chives (old Bier Haus where I have major "history"  ;D), or Tailgaters.

Let's just say Tailgaters.......8 PM.

I'll call the place and let them know we are coming, and to try to save us a few tables.  PM or post on here if you are coming.

It will be good to see all my "little internet friends".   8-)

1904 -  Wabash first received the nickname "Little Giants" by an Indianapolis News sportswriter named Mellet. It came out of a discussion between Mellet and Francis Cayou, Wabash coach, on a train late that season. They were discussing the wonderful performances of the Wabash team of 1904 --- nearly always against much bigger schools with much larger players.

An even better story, imo, was the fact Wabash were the ones that gave Purdue its nickname: Boilermakers.

Rewatching the last two games and given the number of runs, even without Murray, I think LK has been sandbagging as usual. Pounding it out and giving certain people time to recover from injuries. On the other hand, if Collins is supposed to be playing on one leg, why was he in repeatedly for blocking on sweeps. Even if Centre showed some spunk, I don't think we've shown half of what this team can do. With Centre dropping 3-4 on Collins the under routes were open all day and only used a couple of times. Here's hoping we bring a healthy team to the field this week. No good card player shows his cards till he has to. I think Erik had to show a lot to get here.
