Back in Michigan ... and over having our season end.  Congratulations to UMU.  You have an outstanding team and one to be proud of.  Having witnessed both NCC and Mount ... you have the better team both on O and D.  We are proud of what we have done ... but did not have the depth (especially on O) you have when it comes to "next player up" due to injuries.

A fun game, great field, great tailgate (I have experienced both Mount at hoime and UWW at home)  and both were gracious hosts.

Next time ... I hope perhaps next year ... while I also want a different outcome, I know a great game will occur.  Thanks for having us.  And this Bud's for you.

Finally in front of a computer (which is a good thing) after the trip to Alliance.  I would echo everything that wabco said.  Good luck to Mount Union for the rest of the playoffs.
For a hip pointer I think there are better remedies for short term pain relief/mobility.

Got a hip pointer in college playing on an intramural flag football team.  Watch the comments, Gentlemen.  ;) Couldn't believe how painful it was. If you have never had one, it is hard to imagine.  Hopefully, he is fine by the weekend.

I would figure a hip pointer would be a very annoying injury to a QB.  I am sure it would depend on which hip it was as to how annoying, but I can't imagine that it feels good when you run and certainly won't feel good if he gets hit on it again.  All I know is that the Mount coaches will come up with as many ideas as they can to give the Raiders the best chance to win the game.  The Wesley front 7 will have to play a great game and shut down the run and make whomever is playing QB have to throw the ball.  The secondary is the weak point for Wesley so I have to be careful with what I ask for since UMHB was able to expose it last week in the second half and they don't throw the ball well.  The only solace that I have is that there is no one on Mount who can play the role of Shorts and just take over the game like he did 2 years ago.

wesleydad,

Good post! agree but I also know that Coach Kehres will figure out something to offset a potential weekness. Can't think a coach in football who can do it better!  :)

Mount friends, just booked the room for Friday evening.  Will try to be there no later than 830 traffic permitting on the Pa turnpike.  Really looking forward to hanging with you guys on Friday, Mexican breakfast and a really good football game on Saturday.  Sounds like there will be a chill in the air and possibly some snowflakes too, even better for a football game.

Did the same playing the same game in college.  My experience though comes from being the last "non-professional" trainer at MUC before they adopted the major in athletic training.  I like to think that having an accounting major undergraduate as the head trainer led them to understanding why they needed pros doing that job.   ;D

How did you get the job?  Was there an ankle taping contest?

It looked on the replay like Piloto took a helmet from Gum on the left hip.  On that particular play the pass came up well short and it  appeared Gum was in a full speed blitz when he cleanly hit him.  The next couple passes were not as sharp as the early out patterns that were lasers.
I am sure he will get the best of care and if it can be protected by padding, it will be.  question is if the pain allows him to step into the pass and follow thru.  Passes tend to sail when the qb cannot follow thru on that front leg.

I think we D3 posters should lobby ESPN for Pat Coleman to be involved in the Stagg Bowl telecast.  Surely we could get a couple hundred emails to the programming heads and at least let them know we D3er's are out here....I'm sending in my request tonite. Prob won't mean much to stuffed shirts, however, my guess is they don't get many campaigns and it could be fun...

It is really the movement that is the problem.  Walking, sitting, forget running, any movement in the joint killed me for awhile.  But ya, I didn't have access to any trainers or treatment, (cortisone shot?) .  Just beer back at the dorms.   ;D
