One thing that has never made much sense to me (well one of many).

In professional soccer they have that magic "cold spray", and I have always wondered why the other sports don't incorporate that into treatment protocals.  I mean OBVIOUSLY, it works miracles because I have always been amazed at how quick guys can jump up and run back on the field after being in screaming agony!   ??? ::) 8-)

Great story!  Thanks for sharing.  In '68 I tore my ankle up.  Coach looked at it, said "That ankle looks really bad; better put some tape on it."  End of therapy.

Tape!!!  Wow, it amazing how the treatment of ankles had improved between the time I played and you played.  All they ever told us was to do was rub dirt on it.  ;)  ;D

Dirt?  Everyone knows dirt doesn't work, you have to spit tobacco juice on it to fix it.

Going back and looking at the national stats, Wabash was probably the best defense that Mount will have faced. If and it remains an "If" the Raider D can control QB McSweeney. the Raider O can score on Wesley. They have given up 28 pts pr game in the playoffs thus far. I remember what HScoach always says, it usually comes down to the O and D line play in big games, We'll see how much Mount QB play will impact the game as well! :)

Listening to me is your first mistake.

The second and more critical mistake is admitting it in public.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Formerd3db,

I agree that those attendance figures appear about half what they should be. The Stadium will seat approx. 5,500 and it was full on the home side and 2/3 full on the East side, so I like you wonder how if could only have been 2370! ???

We had those topical sprays and they do work pretty well on bruises (say a baseball player hit by a pitch.).  In high school at a baseball game we were bored (I think we were winning by about 15 runs saw a bug walking across the dugout.  Used the spray to freeze it and it stopped.  It thawed and walked away and we repeated the process several times.  I don't think that was a good day for that bug.

One thing that I found very interesting was that I had a great relationship with Coach Kehres and Wable.  We had meetings every Sunday before they looked at film with the team on the injury report.  I gave them my report on who was likely to be available or not available and they always (100%) of the time went with what I said (I was also consulting our doctor) and there was never any pressure to get a player back on the field if they were not ready.  I got more pressure from certain players and none from the coaches.  I one time during a game had to hide a players helmet after he had a concunsion because he wanted to go back in and it would  have been a really bad idea.

My HS Coach (realitycheck's nemesis) used to tell us to "Tape an aspirin to it, go home and have mommy kiss it"  I think he was from the era of salt tablets instead of water.

DE Wesley Fan

Great seeing Short's TD last night and D3 get some love.  Obviously you guys don't want to have to start your 3rd string QB but the guy must have some skills if he's in your program.  Sure he's getting coached up this week and will step up as best he can if necessary.  No way we should take either QB lightly. That said, I wish your #1 and 2 QB's a speedy recovery after about 3:30 pm Saturday ;)

Pro soccer players are like good punters; they will always make the contact look far worse than it was.

So, LSU and Alabama will play for the BCS championship again.  The same two teams two years in a row?  How boring.  Who would want to watch that?

Use duct tape for maximum protection, that stuff will fix anything cept a broken heart...according to my dear departed father. ;)  Burke isnt a pocket passer, Piloto is, the line coaches are going to be busy preparing the plowhorses for all the possibilities. If it snows I actually give Burke the advantage. He has good running ability, and he did not get to be the highschool QB of the state champion with NO throwing ability. What you wanna bet LK has a former highschool QB at another position?

Almeda may score all the points and get the win Saturday. If the D can make it a short field for the offense, then we dont have to throw the ball downtown to be productive. Im more worried about the special teams giving up the score than anything else.

Talk about tough kids wanting to play, a few years ago a local highschooler wannabe Qb had a broken arm and was behind the starting Qb on the depth chart. When the starter went down with an injury the kid saw an oppurtunity and cut his own cast off.... after only 3 weeks healing. He faked a Drs release note and played the next 4 weeks until the starter returned.  How that arm stayed together I will never know, but it did. Ive never wanted to play anythng THAT bad. I wonder if his parents were blind, or had a counting disability,or something?

SaintsFan has never been known to be at all politically correct.  At least we don't have to claim him as one of us!

I gave up on his behavior years ago.  I find him offensive on many levels--especially his attitudes about women and homosexuals.  But then again, I am easily offended and that offends HSCoach. :-\ :-X
