Oh......by the way......Piloto is completely fine....good to go.  Wesley has no answer.

We will see Saturday. Ive got a good feeling in my gut for Wesley. I wouldnt say Wesley has no answer. This Wesley team has been tested physically, emotionally, and spiritually all season long. The tougher team in all of these areas will win the game. But one thing is certain: The Wolverines have been tested this year in all of those areas. They beat UMHB in Texas, they scored 42 unanswered points against Linfield and in that second half to come back from being 20 points down(that takes guts), they were able to stop Mickey Inns and make Linfield one-dimensional. They went out and dominated Walsh after Chip Knapp's son had a cardiac arrest on the way to Canton. They beat Salisbury one week removed from that, and still without their OC. They beat D1-FCS Charleston Southern easily.

Im not sure how Saturday will pan out. But do not think Mount Union will get off the hook so easily as they have been. This will be a hard fought game between two excellent teams, regardless of who is playing QB for Mount Union. Mount may have not seen a good a team as Wesley, but they might have too. But I can guarantee that they have not seen a team that has been as "tested" as the Wolverines have been this year. Wesley may have seen a Linfield or UMHB or another team that rivals Mount, or perhaps not. We will know Saturday.

I hope Wesley opens up their play book as well. I especially like the JUMP PASS on the goal line .......run that one again! ;D

I think I can get a pass tonight so I will hitch up the buggy and metriculate down the road to Rey's tonight for some fun. especially some VooDoo specials. I'll pick up six for you tomorrow S.S.! ???
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

That actually would have been a TD if the ball would have been thrown better.

looks like Toledo's coach is heading to the University of Illinois to replace Zook.  Early reports are that former Purple Raider Matt Campbell will not be joining him at Illinois and that Campbell will be named interim head coach for Toledo's bowl game and will be the leading candidate for the position.  Toledo has a press conference scheduled for 1:00.  Will be interesting to keep an eye on Jason Candle, another Purple Raider currently on the Toledo staff.

Wow, that would be great for Matt.  Jason Candle is coaching at Toledo now too if my memory serves correct.

I saw an article on one of the sports websites saying Campbell was also a candidate for the Akron opening.  Whatever happens, its very cool that he's one of the "up and comers" being mentioned for the different positions out there.

Candle is also at Toledo...tough choice for Campbell if given the opportunity..Head Coach at Toledo or OC at Illinois...I also saw Campbell mentioned for Akron, however the Wayne State guy seems to have an inside track...

Good, that means they won't be getting BADGER offensive coordinator Paul Chryst.  Now if Kansas will just find someone else.

Congrats to all the OAC players making the Ohiofootball.com!   :)

From some of the replies of D3 semi-finals predictions, the Raiders are too hurt to win against Wesley. QB McSweeney is a top quarterback, but they have had to face other top QB's. It will be a great game, but if Piloto plays the offense will be effective in this game! :)

Literally any job is better than the Akron head coaching job. I'm sure he will do great wherever he lands.

These are McSweeney's numbers the past two weeks.

ATT COM INT PCT  YRDS TD LNG

    Linfield..............            22   16    1   72.7   259   4   49    4-24   222.53  ---  27 Rush Att for 174 yds and 2 TDs
    Mary Hardin-Baylor....     22   15    0   68.2   253   4   78    2-2    224.78   ---  25 Russ Att for 114 yds and 0 TDs

These are CLOSE GAMES. McSweeny accounted for 367 of the Wolverines 389 yards of Offense against MHB. Against Linfield he accounted for 433 of their 497. In both games, he was responsible for ALL OF THEIR OFFENSIVE TOUCHDOWNS. And you know what? Wesley required that kind of performance to advance. Their defense has given up 888 yards of offense the past two weeks. That's not good. That average would rank them in the bottom 6% of D3 (Before you Wolverine fans go into cardiac arrest, I'm not labeling your defense as that bad, I'm just illustrating how bad those numbers are). Tomorrow's UMU offense will not be as good as, say, Linfield's. They won't put up 500 yards. But UMU does have a player better than any on Linfield or MHBs respective rosters (Murray) and in order for Wesley to win, the Wolverine defense will have to give up half of what they've allowed the past two weeks (which, by the way, has only happened twice to UMU in ten years; once was last week). On top of that, McSweeny is going to have to maintain his play against the best defense in the galaxy. To say nothing of remaining healthy against the third top-5 team he'll have played in consecutive weeks.

Call me crazy, but here are some things one could fairly easily predict won't happen tomorrow:

1. McSweeney won't complete 65% of his throws.
2. He won't throw 4 touchdowns.
3. He won't run for a hundred yards.

Not against that defense. Not happening. And that's what Wesley will need to win. They've got little else.

I get that it's deep in the playoffs and Wesley has been here before and UMU isn't as good and all of us are hungry for some drama, but you'd be better off wishing and hoping for the Tommies. Wesley isn't winning this game and it won't be close. Their defense isn't good enough and they rely way too much on a single player on offense.
