I will be missing the Stagg for the 30th straight year.
THAT BE GOOD--BECAUSE YOUR  UNNECESSARY  "CHIN MUSIC " WILL NOT BE  be heard or posted ---WE HOPE . D.O.C.  AND MY MAN BLUENOTE  OF LINFIELD POST PATTERNS  DO NOT WANT TO HEAR YOUR "CHIN MUSIC"  ;D

You mind translating this for me then?  I wish I could figure it out but I'm just not "simply the best" at translating whatever language that is.

Glad to provide translation services for the board.  What stoonk was really saying was,

"That Sam-I-am!
That Sam-I-am!
I do not like
that Sam-I-am!"

"Do you like
green eggs and ham?"

"I do not like them,
Sam-I-am.
I do not like
green eggs and ham."

Apparantly, stoonk is also learning to read.

Seriously, 45?  In six games, neither team has ever broke the 40 mark!  Doubt it will happen today. Both DEFENSES are just too good.

At first blush, I thought "You're right - what a ridiculous idea!"

Then, I thought some more...and while you're right that neither team has ever broken 40, the winner has been over 30 in every meeting.  This does not detract from the outstanding defenses on both sides; however, history does show that the Purples have been able to score on one another.  40 points is unlikely, but not impossible.

I do admit that I lol'd at the comment that they'd beat you by 35 because it was "Larry's best team yet" - in the current state of affairs, it's hard to imagine either team getting THAT much of an edge on the other.  Although, looking back at the 2007 season, I kind-of see why he might have been so confident - check out Mount's regular season and playoffs and compare it to UWW's that year.  Mount had absolutely KILLED everyone; they gave up a total of 24 points in the regular season, including an eight-week stretch without allowing a touchdown, and they were coming off a 62-14 semifinal win, while UWW was at least somewhat pushed in a few games.
Tell me about it.  I thought we would win in 05 because the roles were reversed compared to 07.  We killed everyone that year and Mount had a young team with a season loss.  When we went back in 06, I thought we would rectify that situation and in 07, because of all the points you listed above, I was just surprised and thrilled to be there.  My son said to me, "you know, Mom, we are going to win this game!"  I just smiled and said, "Of course we are, Honey!"  ;) I understood the guy's confidence in the parking lot, just disagreed with the point total prediction.
Never said it was impossible for one of these teams to score 45 but I  find it highly, HIGHLY, unlikely!  I am biased toward the defensive side of the ball and two of the best in D3 will take the field tonight.  Of that, I have no doubt!  DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!   8-)

Lady and Gentlemen ... just a reminder that you have less than 22 hours to get your picks in.

Purple Raiders win 27-21
UW-W scores on their first drive of both halves...and is driving hard at the end of the night...but Mount Union's defense refuses to break and hangs on to win.

Will have to watch this in NoVA - sadly, the trip down south has officially been scratched.
Hope the rain holds off for the people who have made it to Salem.

Desertraider

Just wanna wish both teams a great game with no injuries. Warhawks - I have all the respect in the world for your team but ROLL RAIDERS! Also, tell your friends, your enemies and all that you can to watch the game or at least turn it on. I have been watching ESPN2 all day and the ticker at the bottom for NCAAF has the Div.1 FCS semi-finals with times - but nothing on the game tonight. Thanks for nothing ESPN. Even if you are not a fan of either team make it a D3 football event. Remember that one day your team will be in the Stagg and you will want networks to cover it - lets give them some ratings so that can happen.

I agree that I haven't seen it on the ticker, but I did see it mentioned a few times during Mike & Mike this morning when they had the graphic about "what to watch" for later tonight.

Sun's trying to come up, and we're on our way down to Salem. After my last post I decided to stay off the boards because my little internet friends were so gloomy.   Talk about bad karma!   The husband alerted me to Ric' s post, which  turned the attitudinal  tide on here. Thanks, Ric! +K to the big dreamers. +k to Wesleydad for pep talks, +k for Bleed People who is cordial on our site even when I mess with his name.  ;) + k to the two teams who have earned their place in the national championship. That's a proud accomplishment. Hope each player savors every moment.

Go Raiders! Find a way! As MLK preached: "Make a way out of no way" ... (although, as I recall, he wasn't preaching football at the time... :) )

Kehresma,

Safe travels. The NCAA, IMHO, should re-examine who makes the call on having a Championship on Friday night far from the teams supporters. That said, at least they will broadcast it!

Bring home a winner! Go RAIDERS!

Raider 68......here is how that re-examination will go.

NCAA - Ummm..yah....ESPN?  We REALLY want to have the game on Saturday, because that is when the game has always been played, and college football on a Saturday is a tradition.  So which network will you have televise the game with our move to Saturday?

ESPN - NCAA?  After further review, we have decided you will move the game to Thursday at 3 PM, or we really won't be able to show it this year.  Sooooo......there you go!

NCAA - CRAP!  We should have NEVER listed to Raider 68!

;D ;D :o

Yeah, they have to leave that Saturday afternoon spot open for a REAL sport like poker or women's volleyball.........

wish my job had  sick days.... Less confident for UMU this year then ever before ,but then again I didn't think they would lose in 07. Enjoy the game Wesleydad, I appriciate your support for UMU and fear we'll see you next year...dang i been doin alot of posting considering it's been 5 years since i was last posting

runk,

Last year UWW had a great OL and DL, although this year it is very good. That was the real key for them along with Coppage. I was less optimistic then this year. This Raider team had to play through the injuries which greatly affected their offensive consistency. While UWW is favored, they really have not been challenged since they played UW-Osh. This game may really be closer than many think and the Raiders  have the capability to win it! :)

Goodness gracious, what in the world is going on in Raider Nation?? Of course I believe UW-W is going to win. I am their fan and I believe in them.  However, I find it absurd for anyone to think Mount wouldn't have a good chance to win.  I mean, the respect for UW-W is nice and all, but geez....  C'mon guys, these are the Purple Raiders we are talking about!  I have to spend enough time talking "otherwise rational" UW-W fans in off the ledge. Don't tell me I've got to talk you guys in, too!
Bleedpurple.... I'm in a 1 story so you need not worry about the ledge. But I have loaded the pistol, SO.....   LOL ;)

Just read the end of praiderguy's post over and over again... Slowly now....hum the Raider fight song.... unload the chamber, ..... 11 in 11, Larry Kehres.... one bullet at a time, that's it,....best coaching job ever....good job, now lock it...good... ;D
Did you say lock or cock... I think i'll wait and see how the game is going before deciding

Can't believe it's 2 hours from kickoff and I'm sitting in my office.  In freaking Akron, Ohio.  Ugh.

GO RAIDERS!
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

I'm pulling for the Raiders tonight.  Good luck!

I am pulling for a clean, hard-nosed, hard hitting game with enough offense for good TV but not have it turn into a MAC-track meet (I'm looking at you Toledo!). While those are fun to watch, I think D-3 needs to showcase their teams can play offense and defense at a high level.

I'm hoping for a track meet against AF.

Oh wait ... that's the Military Bowl sponsored by my wonderful employer.  If I can get discount tickets to see Matt's coaching debut, it may be worth working for those tyrants!

And sorry for three posts in a row ... still a couple of you need to get your picks in.
