Not to make a excuse for anyone, but both Stagg Bowls that I have been to that were night games give fans a extra four or five hours of tailgate time.  Not an excuse but some get pretty stupid when drinking.

You right it was a vent on my part, it just bothers me to see the actions of people involved with the program change.

Beenhit2hard, yeah in the middle is where I used to roam, however now my physique would only allow me on the end lol, andc i think you hit the nail on the head about first year of coaching and being sensative it can drive you nuts lol

Mount Union Christmas Quiz:

Who holds the record for the most passing yards in a single season?  (Don't look it up)

I was surprised when I happened upon this stat today while looking up something else.

K & J's Dad,

My guess is Bill Borchert, or a second guess would be Greg Micheli! :)

Nope on both, it is Kurt Rocco:

1.  Rocco - 3,929
2.  Micheli - 3,743
3.  Jorris - 3,736
4.  Micheli - 3,515
5.  Ballard - 3,304

This isn't right.

As, the data is incorrect, or like "that ain't right"?  I got the stats from the UMU website.

The_end_of_Overlook,

My take is that I sit in the covered stands, Section 5 real close to Section 4. Many of the season ticket holders are more senior, but still dedicated and supportive. As a former player as well, I marvel at Mount union football over the last 20 years and appreciate each victory and realize that I am a witness to something truly unique in any sport. When I played we were a 500 level team.

No doubt there are fans who find it easy to be critical when the Raiders are not perfect, but that situation is everywhere. Maybe next spring you should consider making your season ticket
change to another area, where the fans have more understanding for the program, players and wisdom of Coach Kehres! IMHO. :)

Rocco threw for 1,300 of those yards in the playoffs.

Recent/current players make the worst fans, because they are physically still involved in the game (or recently removed), and I think have a harder time just sitting/watching/supporting, without having a strong opinion.  I have seen many former players that came on this site soon after graduating, and usually their opinions were much stronger than the average fan.

Parents are parents.....I don't buy the whole bullcrap view that parents have no right to voice their opinion regarding what is going on down on the field.  Just because you are a parent, it doesn't mean you have no right to voice your opinion.  Most/many parents are knowledgable about football, and are passionate about the game.  Having said that, of course there are some that go way beyond what is acceptable, and fall into the "little johnny" syndrome.

Tailgating, yelling, cheering, ragging on refs, etc.....it's all part of the deal.  They pays their money...they get to yap their yap.  As long as they don't go beyond the point of acceptable behavior.  Is it annoying at times...yep.  Such is life.  I don't view it as complacency, smugness, or anything else.  It's just part of fandom....good and bad.

I mean in my situation, I have asked Jr.'s coach to keep his phone with him on the sidelines so I can text him some of my brilliant play-calling and strategies during the games.  Funny.....he has yet to respond.   :o >:( 8-)

just a reminder that the Toledo Purple Rockets are playing in the Military Bowl game today at 4:30.  Matt Campbell gets that first W today.

Coach Campbell will need some good defensive minds to complement their offensive strengths! :)

Congrats to Matt and the rest.  Only active coach with a better winning percentage than LK!   ;D

Did she mention whether either Air Force or Toledo was using a 4-5-4 or any other twelve player defensive scheme?

I hope Toledo and Matt can find someone to whip up a defense...they gave up a lot of points all season and had to outscore their opponents to win.  Their D was horrible....
I also hope Manning does a better job with the O line there than he did at Mount.  I really believe that was the weakness of Mount this year and did not see them improve much throughout the season. There were a couple injuries that hurt, so maybe that was the underlying issue..

Oh, it was. It definitely was.
