Purple....do you know theaprof?  If there is anyone on this board that would only post what is true, he is the guy.

I find it curious that you seem so caught up in what was said about Mount's QB's.  I think maybe you might be much more invested with them (one of them) then the average person posting on this site.  You would go looking for someone who happened to say something "bad" about your adult son?  Seriously?  That is a bunch of crap.

There are some on here that could post in DETAIL what the coach (es) have said about Seaman, Piloto, and any/all players that would be much more harsh/inflammatory than anything that has been said on this internet site.  I appreciate your loyalty to the "kids", but I think you may be taking it a bit beyond reasonable.

Don't know the Aprof, never met Piloto or Seaman, don't know either of them or their families.  I do know they are very young men, working very hard, essentially volunteering most of their free time, risking injury, and at the same time representing my school ,on and off the field ,in an exemplary manner.  Is UMU football that important that calling one a pussy is ok?  He did get hurt playing for us you know.  Calling one a loser because his team didn't go 15-0 is ok?  I'm sure some jerk could say worse about them, but I would think any coach who publicly did so wouldn't long be on the staff.  Players can may say privately what they want, but for an UMU professor to publish that crap, about one of the young men representing our school? Well, you defend it if you want to,but it is indefensible. I have a tendency to be confrontational with jerks who hurt kids, including young adults. My bad.

Purple/Theaprof

One point worth clarifying is that purple infers that theaprof was calling Seaman a name.  He did no such thing.  Theaprof stated that Seaman's teammates were calling him a name.  That's a big difference.  He "published" what other UMU football players were saying about the QB.  If a coach/faculty member/player's parent/player on here calling someone a name, I'd agree that is a problem.  That is not what happened though.

The act of publication is my problem. Ten of your players parents can slander you privately all they want but if a reporter publishes their defamatory remarks,or malicious statements, the publisher is in fact the "at fault" and liable party. The publisher causes the statement to be disseminated publicly and is responsible. Would you let the reporter off the hook if he said, "Gosh,I didn't call you a name,I said they were saying you are something that rhymes with "Herbert",in connection with a young boy."

purple

What Aprof did was far worse than what the players allegedly said. Aprof put it out for the entire world to see permanently. Well,I am going to leave it alone now as enough attention has been given it,which is one of the pitfalls of responding to slander. I am truly amazed anyone defended him. I will always defend players from cheap shots, even ONU guys, hell, even JCU or BW guys.

Hey Purple.....you realize these players you are talking about are 21-22 years old right?  I don't know about you, but when I was that age I didn't need some "older adult" to defend my honor.  If I felt there was a problem, I handled it because that is what ADULTS do (especially young adults who think they are badder and better than most before they learned some valuable/hard lessons).   ;)

Seriously my man.......leave it alone.  You come off as this ultra-protective guy who will defend dear old Mt. Union players to the nth degree.  There is no harm here.  Those same players call each other much worse names without even thinking about it.

Anyways........BOY was I heartbroken to see Pittsburgh lose this evening.   8-)  TEBOW!

Can we all please stop bullying the Mount players?  Let's just give them all a blue ribbon and continue to accept 2nd place.

btw, wasn't LK calling the offensive plays this year?  I didn't think that Bruney had the offensive coordinator title this season.

And, I've heard Northwest QB Nick Riley is leaning towards Mount.  A lefty who is 6'4, sounds like that QB we all have been wanting, Seaman and Piloto combined.

Let me respond to your earlier comments in reply #37661

First, I don't really care if you agree with me or not. I am stating MY opinion based on the facts in a particular situation. I don't need your approval.

I never said the QB position was not relevent. It seems you missed the whole point of my argument. A good QB needs good plays. Enough said.

You're breaking my heart about not giving younger coaches an opportunity since "such experience doesn't happen overnight". Zac has been a coach for seven years, 5 years at UMU and 2 years at Toledo. But don't equate longevity with football acumen. Does he have 7 years experience or does he have 1 year of experience-7 times? There is a vast difference.

Finally, Yes, we fans do want the Stagg Bowl title to return to the campus. That seems like a worthy goal to me. Why not strive for the top? I'm not quite sure what Hope's goal is.

Just my thoughts from an "insider"! You may take back your $0.02.

Why would Pierre sign with the Browns? That receiving corps is second team or practice squad in any other market. What would it prove to lead that team in receptions? 3 catches a game would do that.

Obviously you haven't considered my Chicago Bears.  ;)

He would be the #1 receiver in Chicago.

I think he would look really good in a Dolphins uniform opposite Brandon Marshall.  Of course there is the small problem of a QB that could get him the ball but he would look good.

02, Knightstalker,

It would be interesting to find out how P. Garcon would rank as free agent WR. I would think in the upper tier?  :)

68, I think he should be, he was one of the few bright spots for the Colts this year and more fundamentally sound than most WR's.
