formerd3db,

Coach Kehres is 62, so I think he will coach at least to 65 or so, that is my guess. He will not say it, but he would like to win a few more Stagg Bowls before he retires. I also believe there "could" be a Coach Kehres as head coach for a long time even when the current HC does retire, but who knows. :)

Raider68:

First, sorry I mis-read Coach Kehres age in that article; I did not mean to "age" him i.e. make him older than he is.  Second, indeed, I agree with you that it is my educated guess also that he will continue coaching a few more years and that, without a doubt, he wants very much to get another Stagg Bowl National Title at least one more time or obviously even more before he "he passes the torch".  His son would be an obvious candidate for the head job when he decides to step down, although I'm sure there will be a ton of applicants for that job.  It will be a challenging decision for the committee/administration when they have to decide among the candidates when that time comes; then again, perhaps not. ;)

Tis the season, for High School players to "commit" to DIII Schools:

Jesuit's Ormsby commits to John Carroll
Article talks about his pancake blocks and I am not sure about the blocks but looks like he has ate a few along the way.

Recall the "pancake" blocks reminds me of former Buckeye All-american and All-Pro OT, Orlando Pace
who was 6'6" 330! :)

Heard today while on Mount's campus that the Cincinnati Bengals have strong interest in P. Garcon! Not sure about those stripes, though! :)

That Snowball kid, the RB from Wadsworth that Mount fans were talking about received a scholarship from Miami, Ohio.

Not much a D3 school can do about the D2/D1 schools, even though Mount has a great academic and football program. :-\

Actually commit is the correct word, as thats all a kid can do at the D3 level, give a verbal committment to attend.  When they start signing with Mount, Capital, ONU, JCU, BW, etc. its time to launch an NCAA investigation.

e_lee,

Glad you are posting! Agree, commit is one thing, but signing is another. It always raises the issue
that D3 schools do not offer scholarships, but they do provide "Grants-in-aid" I had one at Mount
during my playing days. :)

Was told yesterday that the Texas freshman QB who had one play in the Stagg Bowl, is a high
potential in the Raider's QB derby. Piloto was not going to be allowed to play varsity BB, but after further
review he is now. What does that mean, who knows! :)

Interestingly in the article linked about the John Carroll recruit it states that both John Carroll and Marietta "made an offer" to a different player (QB) who is looking at some other schools.  Information like this is one reason why I think the public vs private tutition agruement holds much less water than it is typically given credit for.

or it's a case of the writer of the article not knowing what they are talking about regarding the DIII recruiting process
