I'm going to have to figure out how to add B-W into my screen name.  Son #2 decided last week that he will be a Yellow Jacket this fall.

I'm going to need a helicopter.   :-\

Good luck to your son (and you)!  I assume that you are aware that for many posters on this board, B-W is known as 'the flaming pile'! 8-)  Hope you've got a thick skin! ;D

No...I'm not aware.   :o  I'm going to need a brief history lesson.  I've got thick skin....and pretty good at giving it back.   ;D

Mr. Ypsi

I'm a CCIW guy (and MIAA secondarily) - I'll leave it to an OAC guy to fill you in on the history! 8-)

From my memory, which is getting sketchy in my old age, it refers to the colors of the BW uniforms and how they relate to a flaming pile of excrement.

All in good natured ribbing.  What the heck is a 'Purple Raider'?  I even emailed a buddy of mine who works at MTU, and he couldn't answer the origin of that for me either.

The pile of poop is Wilmington.  Your son will play for the flaming pile; completely different.

Explain-inquiring minds want to know. I doesn't sound like you'd want to be anywhere near a flamming pile. ;D ;D ;D

Almafan27,

Kidding aside, Mount Union and Baldwin Wallace have a strong academic affiliation. A son or daughter of a Mount employee can attend B-W tuition free and vice versa! :)

Raider,

We have the same thing up here in MIAA country.  I think that 'deal' works for any MIAA employee and the other MIAA schools, if they choose to participate.

Looking forward to spending some time down in Ohio...as that's where I'm originally from.  Should be good fun.

Sounds like Mount and B-W had a pretty good football game last season too.

Recruiting News........

One of Jr.'s teammates is planning on attending Mount.

Aaron Viscount, North Canton Hoover HS

Great student, great kid, and a workout warrior.  About 6'2", maybe 250 or so.  D-tackle will be his position in college I would suspect.  Really came into his own his senior year.  Had a few "tentative" D-I offers, but when it looked like those might not materialize, he chose Mount.  I am sure there is a scouting profile of him somewhere.

Anyway.......that's all I got!
