Raider 68

Spring drills should be close, if not already started. What can we expect from the Raiders in terms of who stands out and who doesn't? :-\

"There is a young quarterback developing at Mount Union right now whose name you haven't heard:  but you will!" - LK, speaking at Education on the Run.

My uneducated guess: Roman Namdar

pradierguy,

I have heard that name a few times, and who knows what the fall will be like with two returning seniors and a junior in the mix at QB. :)

Interesting....so the kid who got playing time last year, and will be a sophomore is NOT in the mix?  Wow Raider 68.....you are definitely in the know.   ;)

I've heard that Nadar and Burke are both in the mix.

Did LK find a diamond in the rough with a QB from TX who played WR in high school? or is it just the state of the current QB's at Mount?

Namdar was a QB his Jr. year.  Some "stud" (Daxx Garman - originally went to Arizona, now transferring to Oklahoma State) transferred in from Oklahoma his Sr. year so Namdar moved to WR.

The "Factory of Sadness" Browns fan/comedian is back with another hilarious video. This time Mount Union gets what some would call a shout out. http://youtu.be/wGfLFmlU8zo

As a life long Browns fan....located 5 hours away in Michigan, who purchased a dish for the sole purpose of being able to watch Browns football....that video is some funny sh$t...I don't care who you are.   ;D

I know about the transfer QB, I'm just really not sure that Namdar was ever a QB on the varsity level.  Nothing against the kid, but check out his "highlight" video and there are a lot of empty bleachers for one of TX and the Nations top programs.  Not saying he won't end up a good QB at MUC, but I'm thinking his only snaps as a varsity QB have been in mop up duty and one QB draw in the Stagg Bowl.

Agree, one article I read said he was the JV QB as a Junior in HS.  There also have been some D1 come out of that system recently:

Greg McElroy - Alabama
David Piland - Houston
Kyle Padron - SMU
Riley Dodge - North Texas
Chase Daniel - Missouri

So maybe some of that QB magic wore off on Roman.

Texas ball can be quite different.  I have a former player that moved from here in AZ to Katy HS in TX.  He's considered one of their stud linemen and he still played below varsity as a junior, getting to dress in some varsity contests.  They don't just have JV level there.  Often big TX high schools have multiple freshmen teams, multiple JV teams and a Junior team as well as the varsity.  It's insane.
