Reading a high school prep magazine for Orange County CA at a car dealership and am surprised to see one JJ Christy heading for UMU.

D O.C.,

Know anything about him? :-\

Was one of, if not the top prep QB in Alaska before moving to Orange County for his senior year.  Put up pretty good stats as a dual threat QB in a good CIF conference.  Can probably throw out his Alaska accolades due to the competition, but SoCal football is no joke.

OK, sounds good.......but, seriously, how many QB's are there in Alaska?

at least a couple dozen, right?

Safe bet is there's at least one for every team.

Hard to find a highlight video from last year in Cali but there is older footage of Christy slinging it around in Alaska.  There is this entertaining video of Buena Park (and Christy #4 in the second row) doing the Haka in pregame.

(#55 looks like a steam-roller and is headed to Colorado)

Buena Park is in Chapman's back yard....I need to have a come to Jesus meeting with our coaches. Maybe JJ will get cold or homesick!
Cheers!

Cold?  If he's from Alaska, I doubt the Ohio Winters will scare him away.  ;)

There were four, but after he left there were three.

The Mount Union Alumni Office is already organizing the bus trip to Franklin.  Do you think someone in Alliance is anxious for the season to start?

Coach Paul sent out a tweet yesterday stating that ONU will be wearing these on Sep. 15th for military appreciation day.  Pretty cool.

As a father of two "active duty" Army officers.....these are "way cool".  Is this being done with the intent of "blending in" to the surroundings--specifically for running back, receivers, QB, etc.??

I thought last year's jerseys did a nice job of "blending in"

I haven't posted on here in a while. Thought I'd throw out there that it was announced today that Ott head coach Joe Loth has resigned and has accepted the HC position at Western Connecticut State University (D3). He coached there back in the 90's as an assistant. The AD has announced a search will start immediately. Wish him luck in his new spot. Tough timing for our program.

OldOtter,

Tough spot for the Cardinals, maybe an assistant can take the reins short-term until they
complete a search for a new HC. Unfortunately, most HC candidates are already have new assignments. :-\

Hopefully he can turn the West Conn program around, they have been pretty sorry since joining the NJAC several years ago.
