I haven't posted on here in a while. Thought I'd throw out there that it was announced today that Ott head coach Joe Loth has resigned and has accepted the HC position at Western Connecticut State University (D3). He coached there back in the 90's as an assistant. The AD has announced a search will start immediately. Wish him luck in his new spot. Tough timing for our program.

Why would he make that move?  He's an Ott alum and an Ohio guy.  And Western Conn is certainly not a destination job for a guy who has had some success in a tough conference.  Seems strange to me, but maybe he just wanted a change.  So the new AD has to find a football coach and a men's hoops coach now.  No easing into that new gig it seems.

There surely have been lots of changes around here. I don't think that's a bad thing, and that's nothing against either Coach Loth or Coach Reynolds. Both had been here a while and were ready to take on a new adventure. Loth's an Ohio guy but has spent a good amount of time coaching on the East coast. Also, his wife is from the WestConn area.

I've been impressed so far with the new AD. She's had a lot thrown at her in her first few weeks and has handled everything very well. I think having an AD who's only job is being the AD (not splitting time as bball coach) will be a benefit to the campus.

All is now clear as to the move.   ;)

Haha I thought the exact same thing, SS!  It suddenly makes a lot of sense.

After having lived in CT for four years, I can't say I'd want to marry a WestConn or anyConn woman.  He's a brave man heading into a scary place.

There is very little focus on prep football in CT so recruiting will be interesting.  When University of New Haven discontinued their program, WCSU absorbed some of the better players.  Their QB had a solid couple of years but it's a tough place to build a program in my opinion.

According to WCSU's site, they will be leaving the NJAC in 2013 to become charter members in the MASCAC, a nine team conference with an auto-berth to the NCAA III playoffs.

I can't help but notice this seemingly new lovefest you have with ONU.  Maybe you can stop by the bookstore sometime this summer and get a t-shirt or hat or something.

Is their bookstore as pathetic as their football complex?  I think I'll probably pass and the "lovefest" is not new.

The fact that the football complex is pathetic is news to me.  The stands don't look like they were borrowed from a horse park but they're alright.

Aside from not liking grass/mud/elements of nature, what is so "pathetic" about Dial-Roberson exactly?

Has ONU ever filled up the home stands? I would be shocked.  Beside the lack of visitor seating, concessions, restrooms or even a fence around the facilty to make sure a ticket is purchased, nothing is wrong with ONU's stadium

I like Dial-Roberson.. its a nice facility.  A great D3 facility, IMO..  Now, if you want to talk about the company, thats a different story.  RC was there and it ruined my day.

Careful, RC.  Don't alienate those of us who might take your side in this argument.
