I think Wesley could be a real factor this season.

raiderpa,

Agree, they bring alot back including an experienced QB who played several
games when McSweeney was injured.

The entire 2010 season, in fact.

Finally have something positive to post about with regards to coaching for me...

I have been struggling all summer with what to do.  Many of you know the backstory so I'll spare that.  I am still teaching at the school I have been coaching at for four years but I am no longer coaching football there.  The new coach and I don't exactly see eye to eye.  He's made some very weird decisions for the program.

I emailed another HC today offering my services as a volunteer assistant because I have basically come to the decision I'd rather help at a lower level so I don't have to sit out a full year of football.  A 45 minute phone call later, I am offered the JV HC/OC position.  He lost his JV HC in late June to another school so this all just sort of happened.

I'm stoked and rejuvenated.

A great national spread on the all american pre season squad.  I think this speaks well for D3 in general, but more to the amazing amount of effort the d3 staff puts into research and seeing all these kids play. Thanks Pat and staff!

Unfortunately, morons never rue anything ... they generally blame someone else.

preseason all american picks, congrats to all of the oac players, raiderpa i dont think pat and his staff did there home work, onu has a  player being looked at by several nfl teams, worked out as jr, your team finishes 6-4 you get over looked i guess.

While I would love to see a Polar Bear on the list, there is noone that statistically catches the eye from last year's squad so it's not a surprise and justified in my opinion.  A lot of pre-season lists are based on previous year numbers before considering projections for this year from overlooked or breakthrough guys.  I think we can argue that we'd rather see a Polar Bear on the post-season list anyways.   ;)

same player soph yr stats were better than most all americans at same position, i will disagree with you on stats, last year was the same as far as oac goes,  its where you finish that counts, glad to see him getting looks from nfl,  good luck to all oac teams this year

HScoach

Not saying the ONU kid isn't a stud, but stats don't always tell whole story.  There are years where Etta, Musky, etc had defensive players at the top of the OAC in tackles, but not because they were better than anyone else in the OAC.  It was because they were decent players on a really crappy defense that couldn't get off the field, coupled with a even worse offense that put them right back out there, and hence had many more opportunities over the course of the season to make tackles.

RC:  Good luck on the new post.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Pat Coleman

Does "the ONU kid" have an actual name? Easy to overlook a kid if even you won't spare us his actual name.
