5 years removed from a 36 game losing streak and a stretch where they won 4 games in 7 years Berg received 10 votes in the preseason poll.  Truly an amazing turnaround job in Tiffin.  As someone who graduated in the early 00's you could have NEVER convinced me a time would come soon where I'd be more concerned about Berg than JCU or Cap.

Very true.

Just a heads up about a Mount alumni.....Justin Rodhe. Shot putter from the 2007 class is currently on the Canadian team in London competing for Olympic gold. I think the track and field events are next week so keep a look out for one of Mount's own. He is from Bainbridge, Ohio and went to Kenston High School. They had a nice feature on a local TV station last night. Go Justin! and Go Raiders!
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

As a loyal Purple Raider I must admit to mixed feelings about the Germany Woods transfer. Mike was one of our," best ever" as a leader and player for the 1993 team and I have rejoiced at the "Berg's victories over the BW hot dogs and JCU. However,I can appreciate Woods wanting to win it all and he's probably right that it won't likely happen at Heidl. It's great for us but I feel for Mike, who has performed a near miracle at Heidl. Woods will have a chance to play in and win 30 games at Mount, win two OAC titles and perhaps two National Championships. He will also have an opportunity to play for LK,the most successful college football coach in the history of the United States. But,I still feel bad for Mike.

purple,

Good points! Another is the fact the G. Woods is probably the best player for Heidelberg to come along in a long time. Coach Hallet has done a great job, and will attract other high potential players to the school, IMHO! :)

Knowing how loyal LK is to his former players, and how much he claims to dislike competing with them, I'm surprised this transfer came about at all.  Is it possible that Mike was not that sorry to see him go?

How quickly we forget about WR Mike Preston.

RC, you must forgive Raider68 for forgetting about Preston.  At his advanced age, last night's dinner was a "long time" ago.

RC, HScoach,

My Bad, Preston was one of the OAC's top WR! :-[

with all due respect to Preston, who was 2nd best WR in the OAC in '09 and '10.  Germany Woods' career would have far surpassed Preston's had he stayed at 'Berg.  Woods had 2,500+ yards and 20+ TD in his first two years, so you would be looking at 5,000 yards and 40 TD barring any progression.  Preston was a beast for two years, but Woods would have four All-OAC type years and likely broken every record at 'Berg

I, for one, am sorry that the RB transferred from Berg to Mount.  I am sure LK did not seek it, and if asked, I am sure he would have advised against it.  But it is the right of the individual and I respect the player's  right to go after his goals.  I agree with an earlier post that it may be interesting to know if Heidelberg was happy to see him go. Time will tell.

Of course, barring any progression [sic]...

Looks like the Mount QB position just got a little less crowded, Matt Piloto is no longer at Mount

Piloto is gone? Where did he go, what's up?

I suspect being a Senior and projected to behind Seaman, Burke and Namdar (in no particular order) on the depth chart was not encouraging to Mr. Piloto.
