I have been going to mt. games since 1993.  I have seen most of the home games during this time frame. I think I've missed 3 games.  This is the most explosive offense I've seen for the Raiders during that span.

Even better than 1997?
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

yes, they are much faster at running back, receivers and the QB is a multi threat.   Fastest Mt. offense I've seen over all.

This team will bring out all the Mt. haters, for sure.

I think we saw one of those jump The Texan QB there towards the end

We enjoyed Skilliters speed at RB last year, and Julius Moore's and Chris Denton's as well, when they got to show it. Moore may have been the fastest man on the team last year, I'm told, by the numbers. We got to see some of that tonight. Then, Lattimore's long sprint down the field this evening was electrifying. Having a QB like Burke, though, who can showcase the speedsters, makes it a thrill. It will be interesting to see how we look when the great offense is more challenged and contained by a more capable defense.

And, of course, hats off to Mount's incredible defense, once again.

I thought when umu lost last year they would loose the streak.......whew!!!

reality check

Literally flipped to ESPN in time to hear Buccigross congratulate Buffalo State on the upset and give the Berg his usual shout-out for a big win today.

I do not believe , if Mt. makes it to the stagg bowl, that ww water will be there.  I suspect that they will have more than one lose this year.  If Buffalo State can throttle their offense, some of the better teams in conference surely can. Plus they no longer have their cloak of invincibility on for all to see.

I disagree. I think this is just a blip on the radar similar to 2005 loss to ONU.

Great looking win today for Mount!

I also agree, UWWW's lose will only steel their resolve to win out.  I now read that Salve Regina holds the longest win streak in D3 at 9 games.  We'll never catch them.  What about Buf State?  Did they just get lucky or are they for real?  GO Raiders!!

Raider 68

After attending the Mount game, the Raiders this year have:

- More speed at WR's than last year
- More speed at RB
- A QB who can hit his targets and a pretty good arm and a player in charge
- A coaching staff that is focused on the best players playing at different positions

Now, the Raiders has some real conference tests this year to the playoffs. And
the Warhawks have the same in the WIAC to get there as well. It was an exciting
nearly full opening night game for the Raiders and great to be there regardless of the opponent! :)

Watched the STO replay.  I was really impressed with Burke.  He has a good arm and can throw on the run well.  More impressive than the numbers was the location of the passes.  He was putting the ball right on the money almost every time.  This is obviously huge on those short slants to Denton so he can catch it at full speed and get up field.  The touch on the deep balls and fades was also great. That deep ball that Collins dropped would have been another 50+ yard TD on a beautiful toss.

The running game looked good.  Lattimore showed the quickness and elusiveness that makes him dangerous.  But man he has to hang onto the ball.  Jake Simon was the lone back for a while after that fumble.  And freshman Mason Minnich looked good in the 4th qtr.  He showed some burst.

The D was great as usual.  What an absolute luxury to just know Vince is going to trot out an elite unit literally every single year.  When people wonder why UMU is always good that's why.  LK figures out how to tailor the O to his best players and VK gives him the time to do so by making sure his guys don't let anyone score much.

Just a casual observation but has the earth stopped spinning on it's axis......3 penalties for 20 yards?
What happened there? :o

Also no Neal Seaman....is he hurt? or what?

No...he's not.

IMO, Lattimore has to be on thin ice after fumbling in both games.I don't care how good he is, giving away possessions does not sit well with LK.  TJ had better start protecting the pigskin or he will be watching a lot of football. At the moment, I dread him carrying the ball with a game on the line.  He also doesn't show me much of a nose for the end zone.  After his breakaway run, LK gave him two successive carries for the TD and he pussy-footed into the line and was stopped both times.  Perhaps he is a daylight superstar, but a wimp from tackle to tackle.  He has a lot to prove from where I sit.
Speed is impressive, but that is all I see from him so far...
I really liked the Minnich  kid and Prendergast is total guts but seems slowed by the huge knee brace he is carrying...Simon is the typical hard FB and does a fine job.
