Know UWW to be a 2nd half team

Platteville lost their QB to a broken collarbone ... second one this year.  Their 3rd string QB just threw an interception deep in their own end.  UWW scores a touchdown on the short-field and is now up 27-20 with 10:50 remaining.

Platteville scored a touchdown with 13 second to go, but went for two and failed.  UWW 27-26.

Impressive win by Mt. Union today.  3 #rd straight shutout by defense.  Very few penalties and number 5 had no fumbles.  Go Raiders!

Excellent game on both sides of the ball plus special teams! What really puzzled me was how much time ONU wasted on offense...barking a couple of signals then looking to the sideline got to be a real joke.

I guess the question of the day...if you were the coach of Platteville, would you have went for 2 or tied the game and went to OT even though you didn't have your #1 QB?

That 3rd-string QB led them down the field twice in the last couple minutes.  And their kicker was 23-for-23 on XPs before he clunked it off the goal post.  I would have kicked it.

Thought the logic was "Go for the tie at home, go for the win on the road."  And that was without the college format.

For me, it depends on whether I'm lucky to be in OT or not.   If I'm the lesser team, or lucky to be there, I'm going for the win.   Which if I'm on my 3rd QB who has already thrown 3 INT's, I'm going for it.

Sure sounds like the better team lost.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I would have kicked the PAT and went to OT but I have no idea what the "personality" of the game was at that time. Perhaps going for 2 was the best decision at that point. I'm also wondering if WW is open to at least one more loss in the regular season.

I watched the www game on the internet from the middle of 3rd quarter to the end.  www did not pass on offense and ran right then left then up the gut.  Runners were of size and sure handed but slow and the pioneers held them most of the time.  Turn overs killed the pioneers or they would have won that game.  www were big and well coached but slow on offense.  I saw no passes during the time I watched this game from www.  On the other hand, the pioneers passed on every down or the Qb ran it on a scramble.  they should have tied the game as www did not show the explosive offense they have had in the past.  They have a good defense but the pioneers moved the ball even with their 3rd Qb.  HS coach was right, the better team did not win this game from what i saw.  Too bad the pioneers Qb got hurt.  But thats football.

This Raider team looks better every week.  Speed everywhere, a QB that can take advantage of it, an O Line that's playing very well, and a D that is even better than last year.  Overall I think the most improvement has been at the QB position and the Offensive Line play.

Conference play is very interesting with the Berg clearly putting it all together and Otterbein a bit of a surprise.
12-0 = 13

Mount Union brought in a "regional opera singer" to do the Star Spangled Banner for today'
s game. It was the best I have ever heard in the stadium or anywhere else. He was magnificent.
