Dr. Acula

So from the sounds of that article they're even removing themselves from OAC tourneys as well.  Guess it's easier that way for everyone involved.  Interesting.  Any of the long timers recall this happening at an OAC school before?

How often do you think this type of thing happens at the D3 level?  You don't hear of many situations like this, at least I haven't.

There have been about a half-dozen financial aid irregularities uncovered in the past year or so. This is the first I've seen of a school taking such a drastic action over it, however.

Pat,

At 7-1 (despite an SoS currently at #201), I'd assume BW would otherwise likely be regionally ranked.  Any idea whether or not the committee will now disqualify them?  (I guess we'll find out tomorrow, but that could have implications for anyone who has played them, AND anyone who has played whoever would have been #10 if they were dropped.)

BW is removing themselves from the postseason, where's the punishment?

They've disqualified themselves in ALL sports.  That has already led to forfeits in both OAC soccer tourneys.

Oh my gosh, "The Flaming Pile" has imploded or exploded :o :-[.  Not good; also not sure how that situation could have happened.  Someone messed up for sure.

I have no insider info on whether there was an intention to cheat, or just a screw-up (I'll assume the latter unless proven otherwise).  Either way, not good for them, and potentially not good for players at other schools (they would presumably have been regionally ranked; if they still are, it is bad for whoever would otherwise have been #10, and their opponents; if not, it is bad for their opponents).

I know of UWLaX... Did they have any sanctions or anything?

In true Flaming Pile fashion, this will be the year they beat Mount and win the OAC.  Oh the irony.
