Isn't Mount BW's national championship game every year?  The flaming pile better hope for rain and a super conservative Mount offense or this one gets ugly.  I dont think we'll see Mount running the ball with a 4:1 ratio like last week in that oh so close Berg game.  I guess I'm the only one who didn't think the MUC-Berg game was all that close.

I agree the game was close for the 1st quarter as the score indicated, but not after that.

Last year  B-W played the Raider very tough.

Regarding this year's B-W game, we know two factors for sure:

1. B-W is not as good as last year.

2. Mount is better than last year.

The weather should not be a factor this Saturday, so I would expect
Coach Kehres to use more of the play book. :)
I agree with you up to the point that Coach Kehres will open the playbook. Remember the final three games (films) are given to the opposing teams during the playoffs. No other film can be used (Violation of NCAA rules). Therefore, you run a very basic game plan so you provide little details to other teams. If you watched STO video of the game last week you will see that Mount ran limited formations. Keeping it simple! If you look at BW stats you will see BW is about 60% across the board of output production compared to Mount.  BW has an undersize line compared to last years team. Missing 9 players from Defense from last year team and 5 on the Offense.  Defensively, they give up alot of yards rushing 5th in the conference soon to be 6th.

Mount will clinch title this weekend.

Other film can be used. But the teams have to try to acquire it before the playoff bracket is announced, because it's prohibited for schools to trade it afterward. But you can use what you have and be assured that teams are always trying to acquire video on opponents, and there are ways to get it.

While I don't think the BW game will be overly close I do think it presents a couple interesting match ups.

Holt will be a nice test for Isaiah Scott or whoever draws that assignment.  He's small, but he can motor.  And they try to get the ball in his hands any which way so that will be good for the secondary and require them to be disciplined.  And O'Rourke is a capable QB that can get him the ball.

Wagner and Fitch are pretty good D linemen.  If Tate is out nursing an injury that will be good for the slightly revamped O line to get pushed a little bit.

Word has it directly from a parent of a current BW player, the football team was told that the "financial irregularity occurred 3 to 10 years ago and did not include any football players".   Also was told the coaches and team found out via the news article on the internet.  Not from the administration.

Interesting times in Berea.

On the one hand I respect their self reporting - let's face it they could have covered it up, then denied it, only to get caught later so they couldn't continue to deny it and then allowed the team to play in a bowl game against Arkansas....oh wait, wrong school. ;D

On the other hand - YOU DIDN'T EVEN TELL YOUR PLAYERS FIRST! That is really pathetic. At least let your student athletes know what is going on so they don't hear it via the grapevine.

I heard it a little differently.  It was explained as.....not about any specific athletic program, and clearly isn't a football only issue.  Word is the football coach was not aware of the inquiry and apparently learned about it just prior to the president communicating it to the team.

Clearly a tough situation for all of the student athletes to be penalized for, what appears to be, a small percentage of isolated issues.  Not sure whether to admire the self-policing or wonder if it could have been dealt with in another way, so as to not have it affect ALL the other athletes.  Tough situation for sure and you have to feel badly about any senior athlete at this level.

Hopefully Mount plays to it's potential on Saturday afternoon and makes all of this a moot point in terms of the BW football team and Week 11 ;D

Thanks for the playoff projections.  Although they may not be perfect, my guess is the d3 staff will be 95%, as usual. Plus, having them now make for fun discussions and guesses.

Pat noted in his daily dose that JC might upset the berg on saturday with their d1 QB myers from Pitt.  That could happen however after watching the berg sack Burke a number of times and had him scrambling a lot in the first half, I suspect Mr. Myers will be on his back a lot in this game.

Thanks!  Good reminder.

I was going to say "Don't forget to vote", but I figure 47% of you will vote opposite of me.   ;)
