Pat noted in his daily dose that JC might upset the berg on saturday with their d1 QB myers from Pitt.  That could happen however after watching the berg sack Burke a number of times and had him scrambling a lot in the first half, I suspect Mr. Myers will be on his back a lot in this game.

I think JCU wins this game. Myers will have a big game and upset da Berg.

PurpleSuit

No way JCU beats the mighty Berg.  Did you see the first and last drives of the game against Mount?  Dont mind the possesions between, Mount was lucky to sneak away with a 3 poss win.  JCU better be ready to face the new UW-Wastewater this week

ugh the first drive was legit   last drive was a flipping  joke  zebra aided   i will agree berg is a playoff team and will win a game or two in playoffs and umu left 14pts on the field

Someone on this board last week said the thing they would say to the Berg last week was, "Don't let Mount beat you twice."  I think that is a real concern today for Mike Hallett.  Plus if his RB is still banged up, that is a very big loss.  Keeping my fingers crossed for a fellow Mountie to get back on the win track, but I would not be surprised with a JCU win.

That "someone" is a freaking genius. ;D

And don't discount JCU just because they sucked last year and the have 2 losses.  Their Otterbein loss is because Mark Myers didn't play.  And they had BW beat except for a brain cramp in the secondary with a minute to go.  JCU is a good team and if Berg doesn't play their best, their season goes down in flames today.  A healthy Cartel Brooks is a HUGE key.

Strange world we live in.

The pre-game music in cow town Alliance is hip-hop and alternative/new hard rock.

Pre-game music in Berea?    Johnny Cash and 20+ year old Metallica.

Field is wet, packed tight and slippery.   Temps aren't bad.   Winds out of the north at 10 mph.

Both quarterbacks are finding and delivering on target to open receivers, but our  corps weren't hanging on for the first several on-the-money passes by Burke. So,  Junior Collins got some calls and showed how its done. Some exciting offense delivered by Moore, Skilliter and Simon in the first half. I love it when Julius gets to showcase his speed. Not sure folks have realized where our speed is in the last few years. I called for another score on our last possession, but we marched backwards on cheap penalties instead.

And Speaking of cheap penalties, don't get caught "delaying the game" by mimicking the cadence.

Very sad to see LaForce benched early with injury. Lots of emotion surrounding this event. Doesn't look like a good prospect for play-offs.  Heart breaking. We wish him all the best.

14-3 Berg at Half. Cartel Brooks - healthy or not - has 19 carries and 93 yards in first half.

The Mount game is suprising to me on a couple levels.
1. Mount continues to make mental mistakes. Hits out of bounds, false starts, etc. 7 penalties for 63 yards in first half.
2. Slow start last week and this week. Offense was sluggish, dropped balls - D was slow: after last week I was expecting to see "The Machine".
3. Sacks - I have BW with 2 sacks on Burke in first half, and the announcer sound like he is under pressure on every play. BW defense is servicable - but not as good as the D's Mount is gonna see come the 2nd season.

I'd like to see Mount come out of the gate clicking - especially with playoffs right around the corner.

Where are the Raiders? They're not in Berea!

Nice to watch video feed of the game today at Berea.
1st half Ric & Mark's audio was at least 10 seconds ahead of the video.
2nd half video was 15 seconds ahead of R&M audio.
Fun either way.  ;)

Last drive may have been a zebra aided joke, but the 2nd and 3rd possessions for Berg they also moved the ball on the Purple D. Problem was they didn't take advantage of it and put points on the board or they could have really put Mount in a hole. Then the Brooks injury happened and the Berg offense was not the same.

Berg wins vs JCU 31-10. Myers 23 of 48 passing for 228 yards and 2 INT. Had a long pass of 22 yards.

Brooks had 134 yards on 29 carries and 2 TDs.

Wabash lost to Oberlin 31-16 so Berg should move up to 5th in the region. Win vs BW should mean playoffs. Celebrated today the 40th anniversary of their Stagg Bowl win today. I know hardly anyone knew Berg won a national championship before Mount.

Also, North Central losing to Wheaton 28-14 at the beginning of the 4th quarter could mean another spot in the regional rankings.

They didn't motorman, that was a regional championship. Unfortunately, they and the winners of the Knute Rockne Bowl did't have a chance that year to play for a national championship.
