Didn't Ohio Northern host a game against Wittenberg a couple of years ago? I believe Wittenberg was the league champion and I know ONU was not.

ONU traveled to Hanover, Wittenberg and Mount in the 99 playoffs.  We hosted Millikin in 2000 before going to Mount.  So it has happened that a second place OAC team has hosted but it's been the exception and not the rule.

ONU hosted 1st round against Wittenburg in 2010. Won that game then travelled and lost to North Central.

Eh....."stuff" happened a while ago.  LK is no fan of Scafe.  That said...it's probably a little less harsh, but then again JCU has pretty much sucked for a while.

Now that Jr. has ended his season (with a very hard fought, tough loss to McKinley), Skunk & I will definitely be there for the play-off run, and what that will bring.

So with UWW gone, it means Linfield/UMHB/UST might come into the picture.  I say.....NICE!  There is some revenge/coulda-woulda/might have been factors going on.

See some of you around the old ball yard.

That was an awesome game, reminded me of a Hagler/Hearns battle!! HOpe to see ya again soon,I see wings and beers in the near future! :D

Good to hear from you, mtfan.  Hope all is well.

8-2 would be great for OTT but ONU has played better lately...OTT has had a lot of injuries but outside of UMU (not surprising) the defense has carried them. Even just giving up 21 to the Berg is not bad.

Tough year for my kid. Missed two full games and major portions of 4 more. The only games he has played "pretty healthy" are BW, first half of Muskingum and Marietta. Galluadet out, Wilmington only 4 series, the Berg (half of game, did not know his ribs were broken), UMU out, Cap part of game but in lots of pain. Tough for a senior season..but I am proud of him. Should have sat against Berg and Cap but knew those teams would be looking to contain him so he knew it would help the team even though he was doubled over in pain while the defense was on the field. Proud to see him gut it out, tough to watch however...

Sorry I have not visited more often, just a difficult season individually. Team success has been great however and Coach Doup is a very good example for these young men. Truly a TEAM !!

Pat & Keith's projected bracket is out and if it holds true, H'Berg got a really tough draw with North Central.    They'd be better off as the #4 seed in this bracket instead of #3.   While I have no illusions of NCC being a juggernaut like they were a couple years ago, but that's still a good team from a historically strong conference with a ton of playoff experience.  I'd love to see NCC the #8 seed just to welcome UWO to the playoffs in Round 1.  And wouldn't be surprised to see NCC upset them simply because of experience.    UWO has senior leadership to offset some of that, but that first playoff game is a different beast.

If NCC gets Heidelberg, I would make NCC a 7.5 favorite for the same reason.  H'Berg is talented, but they're crazy young and this is will be their first EVER playoff trip and they're only a few years removed from a 36 game losing streak.  If there ever was a recipe for "just happy to be here", it's Heidelberg do to their youth.   They are mostly sophomores (including QB and RB) and start 10 underclassmen on offense.   Defense is about 50/50 on seniors versus underclassmen.  Making the playoffs and getting that experience is going to set them up very nicely for '13 and '14, but I seriously doubt H'Berg wins Round 1 against someone with the experience and talent of NCC.

And has there ever been a worse #2 seed than Concordia-Chicago?  Yikes.  Bethel should be jumping for joy if this the real bracket.

My projected winners are in bold:

Oshkosh bracket

No. 8 Concordia-Moorhead at No. 1 UW-Oshkosh
No. 5 Adrian at No. 4 Wittenberg

No. 7 Bethel at No. 2 Concordia-Chicago
No. 6 North Central (Ill.) at No. 3 Heidelberg

My projected Regional Final:   Oshkosh over NCC

oac should feel lucky, the mess in the ncac is unbelievable. NCAC just announced that if all three win then kenyon would be aq. Imagine the lords playing at mt.  The only question would be how many will Mt. score and could it be 100? Two great reps for the conference as you have is outstanding.

Yes we feel lucky.  The First Round Games in the past 20 years have been nail biters.  Thank goodness we might get Kenyon. ???

I remember mt. had some good opponents last year in the playoffs. Wabash was a good game and I still remember the kicker from Centre kicking the 55 yard field goal into a pretty good wind. Still wonder how that guy didn't get recruited by a d1 school. Miami sure could have used him.

I don't think the insinuation is that you should feel lucky because you'll get Kenyon - I think it's that you should feel lucky to have two excellent teams to represent your conference in the playoffs, while the NCAC might end up sending their third or fourth best team thanks to an unbalanced schedule (and I have no dog in that fight, if anything, I love Kenyon's underdog story this year...but I'm not a fan of NCAC's tiebreaker, which really jobs both Witt and OWU in this scenario, especially considering that OWU beat Kenyon h2h and will have one loss to an opponent that Kenyon did not play).
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

I'm sorry if it sounded like I meant Mt. was lucky to get Kenyon. That is not what I meant and I wish now I hadn't said it as once again I said something totally wrong. I meant the oac should be lucky that they don't have the mess in trying to pick a aq like that caused by the scheduling snafu when earlam pulled out of the NCAC. This has caused so much confusion that is has raised tempers and and has many not trusting the process.  Something the OAC has no worries with. Mt. certainly doesn't have to feel lucky no matter who they play. The results speak for themselves.  Kenyon is a great story and although my favorite d3 team is denison ,tomorrow I will be a Lord's fan.

Heidelberg will play anyone anywhere. Yes you're right... if they win, they will be in for the first time. But to be honest with you, I hope they get another shot at Mount during the playoffs. I think it would be a close game if Brooks doesn't go down and is in there the whole game. To bad it looks like they'll be in a different bracket.

Berg40:   Your re-match is easy.   Just do what JCU did a decade ago and we'll see you in the semi-finals.  Which I would love to see by the way.

I've been trying to figure out why JCU would want a 6:00PM start this time of year. Do they think a night game will draw a bigger crowd, even though they are competing against the HS playoffs?  Or, are they hoping for a smaller turn out of Mount Union fans?
