The final standings for the 2012 OAC Pick-Em competition have been posted.

This year's regular season champions are praiderguy and the over-achieving Chess4Me [who won the OAC contest last year, AND won the HCAC contest this year!]

Thanks to all of you who played this season; the post-season contest starts this week.  Newcomers are welcome as everyone starts with a clear slate.

Just wondering, who deserves the Coach of the Year award more....LK for his long term winning ways and conference dominance, not to mention long history of playoff appearances, or Mike Hallett the coach of a perennial bottom feeder school?  IMHO only the rudder of the Titantic  had a tougher job of turning something around than Coach Hallett has. Both are deserving for doing something truly amazing. Im just not sure whose job was the most amazing. Anybody wanna weigh in on this one?

Skilliter may not have been selling popcorn at the concessions yesterday, but in the past Chuckie Moore had to sell playoff tickets between games. Thats D3 for ya. ;)

If playing a national championship game on a Friday didnt get to LK, what makes JCU think a night game is gonna rattle his cage?

rumor has it that a high school playoff game was scheduled for the afternoon...... judging by the parking situation before umu game i tend to believe that

Well, pre-season is finally over and it s time to get to the real games!  ;)

I think COY has to go to Mike.  What a job he has done at the 'Berg.  LK adjusts a little every year, but Mike lost his #1 running back and still had a fantastic year.  From bottom of the heap to playoffs in just a couple of years--and with a young team.  They should have a good run over the next couple of years.  I actually hope that the NCAA makes sure that (if all goes as planned) we don't meet again until the semi finals.

Guess we'll find out in a couple of hours.
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

Its a good thing UMU and JCU didnt play after the Massillon/McKinley playoff game last night. I sat 45 minutes before moving an inch in the parking lot after the game at KSU. And I got out way before other people did. ODOT handled traffic the best they could. There were plenty of Stateys directing traffic, but things moved slowly. The fans were still trying to park midway in the 2nd quarter according to WHBC's broadcast. Never underestimate the draw on that matchup! McKinley fans must have been fuming in that traffic. Massillons fans.....not so much. ;D

Heres hoping the playoffs are in weather JUST like last night.

I think this is where I am supposed to say something about the blind squirrel finding the nut!

Thanks to Mr_Mom for running a fun and entertaining contest. Looking forward to defending my co-crown in the playoffs!

Berg hosts Witt in round 1.  Then likely play Hobart if they advance.  That's a great draw for them, IMO.  They have a very real chance to make it the regional finals where they'd probably run into UST.

As Pat predicted UMU will host 6-4 Christopher Newport in round 1.

And should the Berg do the seemingly impossible, an all-OAC Stagg could take place.
12-0 = 13

It would not suprize me to see an old foe at Mount Stadium, assuming Mount hosts
the semi-finals, that foe being Mary Hardin Baylor. That said, the Raider have to win
against Christopher - Newport first and the rest of the bracket! :)

Reasonable draw for HBerg.  I could see them playing in the Regional Final.. I could also see them losing in Round 1.  Hard to tell what they're capable of due to their youth and Brooks being questionable.  At least they're at home.  Go Berg!

Mount has a cake walk to semi's.  Then it gets crazy tough.  MHB is the one team in the bracket that really scares me.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Do not get too overconfident about getting a "great draw" and playing Hobart. Check out Playoff results from last year against Wesley with Hobart second string QB . Although a close loss, this Hobart team is even better than last year's.

ok after 4 years of this one might think I would know better by now, but the MHB folks think that UMU (if all goes according to seeds- highly unlikely i know) we go to texas?

I disagree. I think Mount Union hosts that game if both advance.

I'm not saying Hobart isn't good.  They've won playoff games which is more than Berg can say today.  But assuming Berg is a 3 seed I don't see a 2 seed I'd rather play in round 2?  Maybe Salisbury due to them being one dimensional?  I don't know, I just think Hobart is more beatable than UWO or Wesley.

2012 Division III playoffs feature four previous Stagg Bowl Champs

Mount Union
Wittenberg
Widener
Heidelberg

I know the Berg won the Stagg back when it was a regional game but still.  It is technically a fact though.
