hanging in there, hope you're doing well too! you going to make some playoff games this way even if Thomas More isn't?  ;)

Thats the plan.  Been pretty busy with getting married last month and lots of travel for work, so I haven't seen alot of football this year.  I'm talking to a couple of buddies about coming up to see Mount.  I will definitely let you know.  BTW -- TMC had their playoff game this past Saturday.  Its too bad they didn't put up 100 on those fools.

SaintsFAN:

You had better be careful or you will get Sayer mad at you! :o ::) ;D ;)

Sayer knows... I spoke to him after the contest ended.  He reviewed the film last night -- it wasn't pretty.

A regular season note if I may...I was critical of ONU this year, specifically their skill guys on offense.  Well, fair is fair and Tate Humphrey stepped in at QB and put together a very solid season.  He deserves credit for playing well.  Completed just under 60%, 1830 yds (in 9 gms) and 18/6 TD/INT.  Pretty good.  His pass efficiency was better than O'Rourke and Mees.  In fact, he tied w/ Myers for 2nd in the OAC in that category.

reality check

As much as ONU's offense was M.I.A. at the beginning of the season, they did find something as the year progressed but given the less than stellar season results, I wasn't going to go and thump my chest.  ONU's been a head-scratcher this year because after pretty promising sophomore campaigns for Tyler Rue (QB) and Justin Buenger (RB), neither one was able to match or even come close to last year's results.  I have to think that injury or something unknown played into it but I don't know.

So how does it feel to know you've actually been number 2 in the hearts and minds of the NCAA UMU fans? Seems crazy to me.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I doubt any of us will lose a single wink of sleep over it.
12-0 = 13

As someone who on occasion likes to look for conspiracy theories...........

What if........the NCAA committee thought this the best way to potentially have two new teams in the Stagg this year?

Anyway.....no biggie.  It could be a fun play-offs with the potential of playing UMHB and Linfield.

Now THAT would be fun.

Yawn.

Isn't it true that UWW wasn't even a top seed one of the years they ran through to the Stagg Bowl? I doubt UMU fans players or coaches mind being one or two. Although if it were three that might have caused an issue...

Pat Coleman

Correct, UWW was the No. 2 seed in its bracket in 2010. Didn't seem to stop them, although there was sure a lot of ... discussion, let's say.

A nice euphemism for loud wailing and gnashing of teeth! 8-)

But if my memory is correct, 10-0 NCC had the goods by the criteria over 10-0 UWW.  I believe that was probably the reason that the use of playoff history quickly became a criterion for separating undefeated teams.

You know what's more boring than watching paint dry?

Watching middle school girls basketball.

Mount was the #3 seed in the North Region in 05 in their way to the Stagg victory.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Spreads for the first round of the OAC Playoff Pick-Em have been posted.

All playoff games start at 12:00 local time, so it is even more important to get your picks in before Noon on Saturday.

Remember, everyone starts at zero, so even if you didn't play the regular season contest, feel free to compete for the respect of your peers and put a stop to Chess4Me's domination!
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Which just goes to show how meaningless SOS can be.  UWW beat NCC and Wesley on the road.
For what it's worth, when that situation was going down, my biggest complaint wasn't that UWW was at a disadvantage in terms of winning the game, my gripe was for the school, fans and the community losing a home game.  I don't think teams like Mt Union and UWW are disadvantaged at all as "road teams", but there is a negative impact on the school, fans and community-they too have skin in the game and they lose out when decisions are made in a vacuum.

Mr. Ypsi

emma, but I'm sure the school, fans, and community of Naperville felt the same way about hosting a game. ;)  By the criteria then in place, they would have been 'screwed over', just as Whitewater felt they got 'jobbed'.

At least the communities are close enough together that no one was terribly inconvenienced.  (Except perhaps the local restaurant and bar owners!)
