TD and 2 pt conversion.  31-31.

Aaaaand now Berg muffs the kick and Witt recovers.  Good lord.

The Fighting Hallets need a turnover or some kind of momentum change..

You meant cause a turnover and NOT fumble the 1st play after a TD to give it right back to Witt, right??

Desertraider

Wow. HBerg is playing like the old HBerg. Newport gets a late score to make it 72-14..but having listened to this one it could have been MUCH, MUCH, MUCH WORSE!

Can somebody please tell me why they can't announce where Mounts round 2 game is? Mount is the number 1 seed in bracket - so it will be at Mount regardless of the opponent next week - right?  ???

HBerg bows out in round 1. Gave up a pick 6 on 4th down with a minute to go. 52-38 Witt. To the Witt fans posting the "bring on Mount" talk on the video feed - seriously? Be careful what you wish for.

Berg imploded by not being able to cover 2 squib kicks and fumbling. Coaching decision to see how Brooks was sucked the momentum right out of the offense, did absolutely nothing in the 3rd quarter. Fought back to score to make it 45-38, but pick 6 put game away for Witt.

Killer holding call on that last drive.  The pick 6 to end it pretty much sums up that 2nd half of football for Heidelberg.  Berg D gives up 474 yds of offense today according to the radio guys.  That combined with those turnovers isn't going to get it done.

amonachino

witt  52  berg  38   what a sorry way to end a season. 32 unanswered pts.  I guess the berg needs to work on the def. now.

This experience will prove invaluable for 2013 and provide them with a desire to get this taste out of their mouths.

The HBerg loss has to sting - but keep your heads up Princes. A long road has been traveled in 5 years. from "0 for a few seasons" to playoffs in 5 years is still impressive.

so much for my pick of heidi beating hobart next round. I think I drank too much of the OAC kool aid.

Absolutely.  Plus it tells Hallett where he needs to step up his talent level to make a deep run.  It's clear their offensive talent is still pretty far ahead of their defensive talent.

Still a remarkable season.  Never thought I'd see a day where Berg was in the football playoffs.

I give all the credit in the world to CNU's team and fans ( one couple had another son playing on Wake Forest...tough day!) but got real tired with their coach's whining...UGH!!

A word synonymous for CNU defense: slow.   also, the refs were bored as well, they were yelling at the UMU cheerleaders.

The first week of the OAC Post-Season Pick-Em (which makes no sense, because 30 of the 32 teams are NOT from the OAC) is in the books.

Praiderguy, PurpleSuite, and a new guy, New Tradition, lead with 11 points.  And our long-lost desertraider is one point behind them.  Tight at the top ... with many points yet to have.

Still waiting to see who the all-powerful NCAA will determine is the home team for next week's games.  Spreads will come out Monday night.

Congrats!
