Small but Slow

Just be glad we are not facing the Johns Hopkins lacrosse team....
BTW...best wishes to John Gagliardi...his record speaks for itself.  I will never forget his exasperation at the mud bowl in Alliance the first time the Johnnies faced the Raiders....Ballard threw 8 TD's I think to break the record that the Johnnies qb Willie Seiler had set the week before at 7...

Or in a competitive game of Operation!
The '93 semifinal game was classic! I can't recall a more dominant performance by a team and player.

This may be old news, but i wasn't aware of it til today.  Pretty sad, if true:

So he finally retires with 489 wins.  That means LK only needs another 15 years at his current clip of 92.7%.   Or only 11 years if he doesn't lose again............  Sounds good to me.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

sad about Coppage, kids will never learn, but he is old enough to know better...no graduation either....I hope his school record is not indicative of others at WWW. I doubt it, as DIII does have a pretty good track record.

I saw the news about Coach Gagliardi and wanted to wish him and the Johnnies all the best. Great coach and too bad he retired before ESPN could find an announcer who could pronounce his name correctly. Also saw the link on Coppage - WTH? Had to catch UWWW and Coach Leipold off guard. I hope he can get things turned around before they get worse. Too bad - kid had a ton of talent. I keep thinking Kmic, Beaver and Coppage could do something at the next level similar to Danny Woodhead. Guess I can take Coppage out of the mix for now. However if my Steelers would like I will be happy to pass along some contact info on Nate Kmic, or since we need a QB right now maybe Micheli is available.

When I saw today's reports about the Steelers kicking tires on Donovan McNabb, Tyler Palko, and Brodie Croyle, my first thought was "wow how did Greg Micheli not get a better look?"

Raider 68

This was posted on the Southwest conference board, if the Raiders get to the
semi-finals and face UMHB then all Raider fans will remember this and I am sure Coach Kehres as well:

"In 2004, UMHB's starter, Padron, went down in the first round against Trinity and Josh Welch, a freshman, led The Cru to the national championship game. Every game was on the road. Against Mount Union, in the snow, facing a 4th and 12 Welch threw a 24 yard TD pass to Walter Sharp with 48 seconds left to lift UMHB past the Purple Raiders 38-35. "The Catch" is forever etched in the memories of the UMHB faithful. A photo of Sharp's grab even made it onto a sports page of USA Today. "

"If UMHB plays like they did Saturday for the rest of the playoffs, there is not a team in this country (not even MU) that will be able to score enough points to keep up."

Being a frequent poster one BIG reason you didn't know about it was d3football.com chose not to mention it.
It flashed on the WIAC board and left.

I wish Driskill the best with Gagliardi award, however, after reading the bios, how can you say no to any of those guys?  What a great bunch of representatives for DIII football.  Congrats to all of them.
MHB talking smack three weeks before an assumed match-up...this could really get good...

Mount is pretty good.

I think as Mount fans, we have tempered our "can't be beat" talk over the past 7 or 8 years.

It all started in 2003 with SJU.  That 66-0 semi-final win against Bridgewater was the worst thing that ever happened to that team, and to us as fans.  After losing to SJU in 2003, the 2004 semi-final loss to UMHB, and the 2005 regular season loss to ONU really started to make us fans go hmmm......  (spoiled...I know)

Then Micheli & Kmic burst on the scene, and all was right with the world.  We figured 2007 was an glitch in the matrix, especially with the 2008 win.

And then.......09/10/11 happened.  Now I think that we as Mount fans are more humble (except for Purple Suit of course  ;D), and more appreciative of what this coach and team have been able to do for the last two decades.  I for one think they should be the favorite to win the Stagg Bowl this year, but certainly don't feel like it is a lock, or anything close to that.
