wesleydad,

INHO, I think Wesley has a decent shot at UMHB and can win if they play as they have
in the past few games. That said, UMHB may be  also looking ahead since they were
victorious vs. Wesley earlier in the year! We'll see on Saturday, your thoughts?

There is way too much of a rivalry and mutual respect for the Cru to look past Wesley!
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

Wesleydad --I have been busy not much time to chat in here. Your right about next week. I take you have seen Widner play?

hurf, yes i have and i cant figure out how they did what they did against salisbury.  del val moved the ball on them both run and pass which may have been the issue last week, the gulls are one demensional.  widener doesnt do anything that makes you say wow but they keep getting it done.

raider, i posted something on the acfc board earlier.  jump over there, i layed out what i think has to happen for wesley to win this weekend.

roo, i agree, much mutual respect, but having beat wesley already the cru could be looking a little ahead.  they are only college kids.  coaches can preach all they want about one game at a time, but when mount could be just a week away you just never know.

Just my 2 cents, but I hope MHB is looking ahead and doesn't take Wesley seriously.   I like our odds of returning to Salem much better against Wesley than MHB.

There has certainly been a lot of response to seadog's post a few days ago. I also heard the same story. It seemed to me he was only asking if anyone else had any knowledge of the story.
Agreed, it doesn't make much sense but we all know how the NCAA operates.
Ric, you were completely out of line to say it was a stupid post. Instead of your "stupid" response, why don't you concentrate on making less errors in your broadcasts, of which you make numerous, inform your colleague that it's not "they had went" but "they had gone" and be more civil. In spite of your big ego, you are not the ultimate expert on Mount Union football.
I would have to think twice before asking a question on this board, based on the various responses.
Bottom line, we're all for the Purple Raiders. Can't we all just get along?

Fewer errors, not less errors.

It really is a difficult job, even if you know one of the teams well.

Not worth it. I am much more calm these days. Thank you Cindy.

muc57's post says more about him than me. He and 70'sraider can go back to their room. I didn't attack anybody, I called a post dumb. Its the second year in a row seadog has come on here during the playoffs with these rumors. He's either starting them or is very gullible. Doesn't really matter. If muc57 thinks playoff locations of games not even determined yet are discussed at halftime in the mount locker room that says it all.

Attacking my radio work behind this board is not worth addressing. He can turn the dial. There are other options.

I like my popcorn salty hscoach. Keep it up and that can be your job on Saturday, HAHA

Put me in the camp that was disappointed by JHU's showing on Saturday. I thought the game would at least be more entertaining than the Mount/JCU game I saw a couple weeks back. That was flat out domination from the Mount D, save one big play, and on a better weather day, the Mount O may have been able to hang 100 on that defense. Big, yes, but also very, very slow. Burke had two open receivers (at least) on almost every play. I thought for sure I'd have to stay and freeze for three quarters, but I was gone at the half.

As for the officials and boisterous parents, I will say the officials called a less than perfect game, but officials weren't the guys leaving wide open receivers all over the field.

Hoping I will be able to make a Mount/MHB matchup, should it come to pass.

It seems to me I remember a post by HS Coach that Mount's receivers would be running free in the JH secondary all day...Given HS Coach's track record, I would like to see Ric and Coach in a trivia contest on Mount football...Could be very entertaining..Of course it may be that Ric is the hostorian and Coach is the scout.

From a fan's perspective, I definately want to see MT vs. MHB.  Nothing against Wesley as they certainly are worthy of playing in the semifinals, it's just MHB provides something new and intriguing in many ways.

In the past I would use the term "they haven't seen a team like..." when debating against Mt (which of course would elicit strong responses from 70's).  However, IMO the phrase is now directed at MHB should there be a game vs. Mt.  It just doesn't seem to me that MHB, with all their success and skill, has seen a team that can do what Mt does on defense and offense.  If the game happens, I'll be surprised if MHB is within stiking distance in the 4th.
Sorry, now I've gone and jinxed Mt.

First, I am confused. Is MUC57 the one who had the Mount Union Football website? You know the one that was the bible on all things Mount Union Football? The one that was so good that Mount Union took all of the stuff and put it on their website when the other was discontinued? Second, is Ric the one making the errors ("why don't you concentrate on making less errors in your broadcasts, of which you make numerous..") or is it his colleague? I mean you call Ric out but then give his colleagues error - again I am confused. Finally, the comment was stupid - regardless of whether we are all for the Purple Raiders or not. I mean if the NCAA didn't officially announce the location of the quarter finals until the day after the 2nd round games (even though Mount is the #1 seed and will host) - why would they have already announced (privately no less) the location of the semis when the teams are not even known?

I heard from a reliable source - this is not a knock on seadog or MUC57, it is actually real information on something different - that the Hopkins players were trash talking the entire 2nd half about "being able to get jobs when they graduate", name calling, and trying to start altercations. Nothing out of the norm for a football game - but I expected a bit more from JHU. My guy said it got worse after every score by Mount. I was disappointed with the JHU fanbase as well. Some of the comments from the fans were way out of line (well not for BW fans  ;D).

As far as the play was concerned I thought JHU was big, slow and out of shape. One of the players said that JHUs o-line was gassed by mid 2nd quarter. It was obvious that Hopkins had never seen Mounts speed before. However, the final score made me wonder: How much more preparation did Newport or JHU give Mount than say Muskingum, Capital, Wilmington, Marietta? I am not saying that JHU would be a last place OAC team but.....
