The teams that worry me are the UWW and MHB style teams that can run the ball behind a strong O-line straight at a very under-sized front 4.   Those teams are going to be stuff to stop.

This is what worries me as well. IMO this is how UWW has had so much success against Mount the past few Stagg Bowls.

There actually is a silver lining to getting the NCAC crew this week.

THEY CAN'T SCREW US NEXT WEEK WHEN IT MATTERS!
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I wasn't going to put it quite in those words but yes, I was thinking that it was good this was the quarterfinals and not the semis.

^  I'm usually in 02's camp when it comes to looking ahead, but Widener isn't enough to make we worry about not reaching the Semi-Finals for the first time since 1994.

And of the remaining 7 teams, there's only 3 that would make me concerned this week (in no particular order as to not offend anyone  ::) ):
MHB
Linfield
UWO

not matter who is left, the semis and Stagg are going to be really great games.  I think the most competitive in many years...and the Wesley-MHB game could be a classic for these guys....

Agree with HSCoach and raiderpa,

One of the major differences this year for the Raiders, unlike the last 4-5 years, is the consistancy through the season.

- Do they have the best defense in the country, YES

- Can that defense adjust to a MHB, UWO, Linfield? I think and hope so!

- Will the offense continue to score in many ways under the direction of
  K. Burke? Yes

- Will special teams make a huge impact for the Raiders? Could happen again.

- The winner of the semi's and Stagg will no doubt have to score a lot, and those
mentioned can do that. We'll see Saturday! :)

Hopes and prayers for your team captain. My neighbor growing up went through the same battle and came out ok, but i can remember how tough a battle it was at times. The fact that Brooks is in strong physical shape will bode well for a great recovery. Hope to see you in A-town next week!

Not to look ahead but........(well yah I am)...

I was planning on having our annual get together NEXT Friday before the semi-final.  It's kind of been our tradition.

Besides.......my wife won't give me permission to go this Friday.  We have "holiday socializing" on the agenda.   :-[

On another note....any Alliance guys go to the little Italian (I think) restaurant that doesn't seat many people, but has amazing food from what I hear?  Can't think of the name. Only a few years old. No liquor license so you bring your own wine.  I have heard great things......

skunks:

Just a quick side note/question:  the restaurant you mention actually allows you to bring your own wine?  Most eating establishments do not allow that, for various reasons, legal or otherwise.  Interesting though, if the restuarant you are talking about does allow that and good, of course, for you patrons who go there! ;)
