I asked Mr. Coleman (D3 Football) about the starting time; but, failed to ask permission to post.  So, I may be in trouble.  His reply:

"The NCAA told us 2 p.m. so that's what is on the schedule. You could confirm with Mount Union but our sites draw from the same database so you will always get the same data from both sites. :)

Game times of semifinals changed starting in 2011 to meet ESPN3 requirements."

That's also why I don't post much. In the time it took me to write those, I could have done my Gagliardi vote, assigned this week's feature stories and driven home from work.

At least Twitter forces me to be concise.

Just vote Driskill and call it a day

Doesn't work. You have to rank all 10 players, so it's not a simple ballot.

Football                            This is from their official website.  I do not feel it is reliable, due to that they have the
12.8.12 | 12:00 PM             time incorrect and the team they are playing does not exist.  On a more serious note, is there a
Alliance, OH                       good reason why this is so questionable.  It's 2012 and with all the technology this is sad!!!!

On the espn site it has for Sat. noon Div.III semi's at noon and 3:30PM. on ESPN3.  The 3:30 fits the eastern time for St. Thomas, yet, the Mount 2PM eastern start does not fit the the noon eastern. Plus you would have 2 games on at the same time.  So this will have to be cleared up soon.  Usually t.v. wins out.

What link did you see this?  The ESPN-3 listing has the D3 playoff games at 2:00.  This is the first link that I found:
http://espn.go.com/espntv/onair/index?start=12-08-12-11:00-AM

The WatchESPN App on my Tablet shows the game at 12:00pm Noon.

Can anyone post a link to confirm the time?

2:00 pm here would be noon in that part of Texas, maybe?  Are they on mountain time?

Posted the notice/invitation for our Friday night get together on the General Football Forum.

Please post there or here if you can make it, so I can get a handle on how many are showing up.

WINGS!!!!!!!!!!   8-)

Are you buying?

If we were to have such a distiguished media star attend our little get together, I think one could expect to get "star treatment" and have some wings gratis.   ;)

A reasonable try, but they are on Central time (as evidenced by yesterday's game - noon there, 1 EST).

I'm a definite "maybe".

Good Motivation for this week:

1.  Seniors yet to win a Stagg Bowl.
2.  Payback time for the last second catch/defeat to UMHB in 2004.

Definitely agree on the first one but have a difficult time thinking the second will have much of any effect on those strapping on a helmet on Saturday.  It definitely will mean something to many in the stands, maybe as a second level motivation for LK, but none of these players were near the field 8 years ago.  The seniors were freshman or maybe sophomores in high school then.

Wow. HS Coach has mentioned Kevin Burke in the same breath as Bill Borchert. I always pause a moment when I hear the name of The Great Number 7,and reflect on a great play he made,or game he won. High praise indeed.

Not saying Burke is equal to Bill yet, or that he'll end up being what Bill was, but he has the potential to get there.  What I am comfortable in saying is that his sophomore season is better than any other Mount QB's sophomore season.  Including Borchert's, Ballard's and Micheli's.  And it has nothing to do with the statistical numbers.  It's the field awareness, poise and leadership.  The kid is one cool customer.  And when he struggles, it usually isn't for more than a few series before the wrinkles are ironed out.  If he works his butt off, which I have no reason to believe he won't, the sky is the limit for Burke.

I have no real comparisons for Burke with past greats, except on the STO replays of old play off games, but I will tell you he has one skill that is #1 a lost art #2 doesn't get much media attention     and it is: Burke is GREAT at play fakes(I just watched Jay Cutler half azz 6 or7 in first half of bear game)  I mean Burke is exceptional at it...... It does take a few components to make it work real well- a credible running game, fast receivers. I'm sure the older ppl on here remember Jim Macmahon fron 1980's bears...... he had an average arm, but he really was great at the play fakes-of course he WAS stuffing the ball in walter payton's gut, but I can remember him turning a(for real) world class sprinter-and a receiver with  barely average hands(willie gault) into a true TD threat . His deal was to put ball deep in walter's breadbasket, pull ball out late(Walter sold the fake very well too), then the ol sunglasses "too cool for the room" dude would shuffle a little to his right to buy even more time and throw the ball as far as he could and Willie would run underneath it with the conerback 2/3 steps behind because CB had taken a step forward to "stop walter".  .
Btw I was in san diego when the  macmahon was playing there(1989?) and  blew his nose on one of the world's most obnoxious reporters-a nasty thing to do but "it was either that or I was going to punch him and I am tired of jails" was his reasoning

anway, point of this rambling post was to hopefully have a few of you that might not have been aware of this talent to watch how well Kevin does it, I think it might have been mentioned on one TV broadcast? But I noticed it in the Franklin game and he's gotten better as year went on- It's a little thing, certainly no stats for it.... no bonus clauses or helmet stickers, just a small thing that helps win games. In current NFL I would say peyton Manning is the best play fakes
One more question, and I am hoping I don't upset anyone, but whatever happened to "70'sraider" ? Health issues or Mogadore grandkids playing football- he didn't seem like the type to be run off a board that easily

and before I get bombarded with "Macmahon set records at BYU- he had a great arm" etc, if you watched him at BYU he had the play fake thing down THERE too. It slows down the pass rush, helps the running backs and the entire offense.

70's was disinvited from the boards.  I still see him every week at the game though.  Stands near the south gate with Dean Taylor.

Tell 70's I said hello and I'll look for him at the Stagg Bowl if he goes. I'm planning on going no matter who plays.
