Now- I have to say it since no one says it anymore: Mount hasn't seen a team like UMHB. I am adding this because Mount has not seen a team that can dominate between the tackles. UMHB can line it up and power run  behind a big offensive line. I am curious to see how Mounts speed on D addresses this. Please don't crucify (reference to CRU not intended) me on this one.

While UMHB has a big line, I don't think that it is anything that Mount hasn't seen.  We are not talking about the UWW lines from the past couple of years where it seemed like everyone was 6'-4" 280+.  Mount's D seemed to due just fine against a power running team in last years Stagg Bowl and I would think that having an improvement in the LB group would only help against a downhill running team.  VK will have the defense ready.

Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Don't believe the rosters.   I can still remember Bridgewater's MLB that was listed at something like 6', 190 lbs.   When in reality he was a 6'3", 230 lb beast.   Lots of crazy games get played with roster heights & weights.   Some schools sandbag, some exaggerate to make it easier to garner post season awards, some simply list their freshman ht/wt all 4 years.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Since it is the time of year we discuss/belabor a bunch of things that don't really matter, Saturday's forecast shows 50 degrees with a 40% of rain.

Just got caught up on all posts since Saturday morning <whew!> I was shocked when I had someone look up the score for me on their smart phone late Saturday afternoon (busy with out of town family events). I appreciated Keith's posts. It gives me a new level of admiration for Keith and Pat. I had no idea they also had "real" jobs in addition to D3football.com. So in other words, they have 2 full time jobs! (or 3 - including families!)

As for the comments about "pundits", "experts", etc. Despite all of the studying one can do, no one ever predict final scores. It certainly is much easier to predict winners... but the score or spread? Never. I'd wager any amount that not one "pundit" predicted Wisconsin would cream Nebraska by 41 points! Heck, I'll bet those few who picked Wisconsin had it as a close game.

Looking forward to this Saturday's game. On Mount to Victory!

^ to the best of my knowledge, Borchert never tried.  Maybe one of the really old guys knows differently

As much as I like the potential guys listed, I don't think any of them possess the freakish physical talent that Garcon & Shorts, and even Kyle Miller, possess.     They're great D3 players, but none of them are bigger, faster or stronger than the rest of D3 to really stand out like Pierre & Cecil did.

In regards to injuries, I think Tate and TE Stewart are both out.  As well as Denton, Moore, Burke, Skilliter, Driskill, Dieusuel, Fetchko, Scott, etc.   All didn't play the 4th quarter against Widener due to serious injuries.

Thanks for the information.....however, let's keep this between us.  I've heard that some MHB folks look at the OAC board.

rumor is the team doctor came in to the locker room at end of game to say Collins won't be able to play either,  :o ...dang! something about being exhausted from too many catches the past few games.

That would be great to see!  I'm sure it will be a great game.  I wish I could make it down, however, another commitment now prevents that.

I believe I remember reading on here that Bill Borchert had a lookysee in Cincy. Brief, but still got a look.

The thing that made Borchert stand out was he believed in his team and they believed in his leadership. He played like he expected every play to go his way, and it usually did.

Does this years squad buy in to the K Burke Show? Sure looks like it. Next year will be the real test. There will be new faces in the huddle to convince. I believe the backup will be new also. Its going to be interesting.

While I don't doubt that happens in a lot of cases..... in the comparison listed for  this game? I don't think Mount has played obvious games with their height/weights -and I have recorded a few UMHB games- from what I saw-I don't think they have played any of those games either-I admit it's harder to tell on video than it is looking/talking to the players after the game, but I  didnt see any noticeable discrepancies in UMHB line size vs roster info either. I will say they are bigger on the line than some of the teams mount has seen in some  previous games-not that it means much....  Hopkins had some big lineman but by the second quarter they were "hands on hips/winded" . Burke is the key, if I  was UMHB  I would concentrate on that position.  You stop Burke; harass, confuse, sack, chase, anything to get him rattled.  However, that would be tuff to do.  Mt's D will be fine if they are not on the field all day.  This should be a great game.  Lets hope for no injuries and a lot of big plays.  Special teams could decide this game.  GO RAIDERS!  Oh and some decent officials.

Jermaine Taylor was listed at 5-10, 210 by Bridgewater and 5-10, 215 by the Green Bay Packers.
