Well, well, well - ESPN. My old nemesis has reared its ugly head yet again! I will be hanging on every detail I can get from my computer. I don't get ESPN3, ESPNU - or ESPN8 "The Ocho!". So no Cotton for me tomorrow.

To the Raiders - may the football gods smile upon you for another week. ROLL RAIDERS!

To UMHB - I wish you the ALMOST best of luck.

May the game be clean and injury free for all.

ROLL RAIDERS!

Side note- after the game (win or lose) I may even tell my story of the last time Mount and UMHB faced off. I am convinced to this day that I was the reason for the loss (damn superstitions!).

Nah, you weren't it.  It was the Football Gods preparing us for an upgrade at DC.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Thanks to all my little internet friends (at least that's what the wife calls them) for a evening spent BS'ing about football.  Especially those with deep pockets to buy the wings.  +k to you!

GO MOUNT.

Good to see everyone last night!  The room was awash with celebrities.  Ric.....Mark....and yes.....even LENNY!  I truly believe Mount has one of the best SID's on the college scene.

Mount - 45
MHB - 21  (one TD will be a behind the back flip to a receiver who will then do a full gainer to score)

Now off to a 15 year tradition of margaritas, chips and salsa, and eggs.  YYYIIPPEEE!   ;D 8-)

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR   you ready for some football ?!!!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS TODAY.    GO RAIDERS

It re-airs on ESPNU midweek. Keith wrote a blog post with some details and tips 'n' tricks.

Thank you, K-Mack!

Amazing detail ...  have you thought about proposal writing?   ;)

From the news release about UMU and Bethany scheduling two games: "The 2014 game will be the ninth all-time between the programs but the first since 1965. Bethany, which won its first PAC championship in program history that year, completed its regular season with a 35-19 loss to Mount Union, who leads the all-time series 7-0-1. The only non-Raider win came in 1908 when the schools battled to a 5-5 tie."

Wow! A 5-5 tie. I am positive I've never heard of that exact score in a football game before at any level. Since it was in 1908, could there have been different scoring back then? Or is it assumed that each team had a field goal and safety?

In 1908, a touchdown was generally worth 5 points, a field goal was 4, safety 2, and a conversion 1.

Disclaimer: not all conferences followed the same rules, and in some cases, teams could even negotiate the scoring conventions at game time.

For any of you poor guys that are schmucks like me with a ISP that doesn't carry espn3 , I just found a local Internet cafe that will let me watch on their 60 inch tv for 3 dollars a person! Hope that helps someone else GO UMU!!!!!!

PRP96

Just an FYI, but if you can't follow the game on tv or the internet, you can always call the Mount Union radio station and listen to the game live through your phone.

MUC80

I can't believe the quality of the broadcast online on ESPN3! Very nice.

kubiack78

WOW that was scary.  First time watching Mount this year.  this could be bad for UMHB

As they say on the Staples commercials... "That was easy"  7-0 in less than 2 minutes!
